Day II, Practice II

Was delayed with the Alan Kang story and other things regarding our VB preview and UH also changed up what they planned to do so I was unable to attend the light practice before the players went to lift this afternoon.
Was told that Greeley practiced, had treatment afterwards for the left ankle she rolled in the morning and is cleared to practice Tuesday morning.
Did speak with Shoji after this morning’s practice about how he thought it was going.
He said the big thing with young players is to get them to learn how to do things a certain way which might not be the way that they were taught in club or high school.

“He said the big thing with young players is to get them to learn how to do things a certain way which might not be the way that they were taught in club or high school.

…True dat and he isn’t the only NCAA head coach who believes this. Many a new recruit across the NCAA has had remarks about having to forget everything the learned in HS and club. This is why many coaches start day one with fundamentals and skills.

Take a look at this short clip put out by UH Athletics last night” getting after it on Day 2 of fall camp” Isn’t that Nikki taking swings on the RS ?

    LC believe that is Huff

It has already been stated that Taylor would be out for two to three weeks, so why would you think she would be hitting in practice? That’s Huff.

I don’t care about what as stated.

Well to answer your question LC, it’s not.

I remember seeing Brittney Hewitt doing this drill and thought it was interesting watching her swing on the left.

When you say club, you mean not being part of a high school but instead community. If they’re bigger? Depends on …?

LC, thanks for the instagram. Megan Huff does look sort of like Nikki Taylor, in body structure. I think though, Nikki Taylor has a slightly higher vertical.

  9. LC August 12, 2014 10:58 am

I agree same body structure and from the back even the way she stands and moves around very similar to Nikki.

It is Huff, not Taylor. They do look alike, especially since Taylor has lost 10 pounds during the summer. Greeley along the same lines.

    club as in club team.

LC, a very strange response since the statement came from Taylor, backed by Shoji. And also mentioned that Huff was taking swings at OH. or do you not care about that either.
