Congrats to Zarkovic, MPSF player of week
From UH
University of Hawai freshman outside hitter Sinisa “Siki” Zarkovic earned his second Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Molten Player of the Week following his performance in the Warriors’ two-match sweep of USC.
Zarkovic accumulated a two-match hitting clip of .429 (28-4-56) in the Warriors’ five-set wins over USC. In the first match, he served four of the team’s 12 aces, which was an MPSF team-high for a conference match this year. Two of the four aces were in set five, helping UH come back for a 3-2 win after a two-set deficit. That same night, he collected his third double-double of the season on 16 kills and 10 digs, while hitting .452.
Zarkovic is a repeat winner of this award in 2013, also earning it on Jan. 28 after leading UH to a sweep of Pepperdine. On the season, the freshman leads the team with a 2.93 kill average and ranks second in digs (1.40) and third in aces (16).
Congrats to Siki, hope he has another great weekend against Cal Baptist.
Congrats Siki !! Was the most steady warrior all weekend.
What I like is how he plays out of slow starts and little funks.
Congrats Siki! I am glad he got this award but I am pretty surprised that no one else in the conference really stood out this weekend. But Siki did bounce back in this last USC match. He had maybe 1 kill after the first set and then Ramos set him more often.
Congrats Siki!
I’m a little surprised he leads the team in kpg.
He’s also funny. He likes to mug for the cameras.
Now he got National Player of the Week too. Congrats Siki!!
