Ahhh Cindy beat me to the punch , I just saw the All American Selections and I was gonna throw it up on the blog. Congrats to the all americans! Side note, do we know if Tuileta will be granted another year of play? How does that process work? I am assuming we are appealing his loss of a year of playing time in transferring?
Congrats to the four!
Granato named to the USA Collegiate National Team in Minneapolis
Guess I did beat you since I wrote this last week and was just waiting on AVCA to announce
)-;❤️
Thanks for letting me know about granato
More of a story about the AA team on our breaking news site
Cindy, do you have any intel on why Mitchem didn’t make the Thailand or European rosters? Was hoping she would make one of the teams. Maybe she will make the Pan Am Cup team like Nikki Taylor did last year.
I think Fey was deserving of HM, but he’s been a bit of a late bloomer and is still surprising some in the VB world. Maybe some small advantage in that for Hawaii.
5 I do not May make later roster but a lot of competition at her position
6 my story tomorrow will explain a little about selection process As you said in part he came on late But these awards are screed heavily towards point scores Except for S and L
Fey is top rated passer in MPSF His value has been overall game UH offense is built ariund Opp and M attacks first
1 they appeal after his supposed senior year next season I am assuming with Gage worsley coming in Tuileta moves to OH?
Mol out of boot Looks like he is wearing one of those active ankle braces
Along with Granato, Tita Akiu (Kamehameha – Kapalama)/L, Texas Tech, named to the 2017 U.S. Collegiate National Team (CNT) – Minneapolis/see link: http://www.uoflsports.com/news/2017/5/1/womens-volleyball-jasmine-bennett-and-amanda-green-named-to-us-collegiate-national-team.aspx
Also Taira Robins-Hardy (S, Brigham Young University, 6-2, 1, Waimanalo, Hawaii/Kamehameha – Kapalama) named to the CNT-Europe team.
Hawaii is well represented.
Hi Cindy,
How many players made the trip? Since it is an NCAA match, does the roster size increase?
Happy for the warriors that got recognition for their play this season but I am bummed Hendrik didn’t make second team. I think Long Beach getting four on the first team as the second seed in this tourney is a bit excessive.
12. I think only 14 players made the trip, shame redshirts couldn’t go and get the NCAA tournament experience.
Really hope the seniors play inspired and lead UH to win tomorrow. if Kupono has three matches in a row like the MPSF semis he will be a local hero/legend.
12. travel roster same size as MPSF tournament. They traveled 15
same guys as last week.
13. it is what it is. will try to explain Mol in my story tomorrow. It was a numbers game from what Wade said. and the votes just fell where they fell with guys who scored more being ahead of him.
first team had 2 middles, second team 0, 9 honorable mention
if they had gone strictly by positions in the voting IMHO Mol would have been second team.
13. interestingly The Beach has a go fund me page to raise money to bring guys not on the travel roster to share the experience.
