Could be a very quick night. Lancers only brought 9 players because of injuries and suspensions
Or not. Warriors playing down to the competition. Lancers up 15-13 at the TTO
Good call by the up ref to overrule the linesman. That serve was long.
Cal Baptist up 24-21. UH’s serving errors (6) killing them
Lancers finish it off 25-22
UH hit 320 11-3-25. West 4-1-8, Olsen 3-1-4, Averill 2-14, arkovic 2-0-3 … Sedore 0-0-5
3 aces, 6 SEs, 1 block, 6 digs
CBU hit 524 13-3-21. 1 ace, 6 SEs, 0 bloke 10 digs.
Hmmm, the Lancers have come to play. Up 5-1 in Set 2. TO UH. Wariror block is very slow to the pins right now and CBU is tooling very effectively.
Does anyone have any news from ocsports about the live Web feed? It’s not workng tonight! Thank goodness for Tiff on espn!
UH sees a 14-12 lead turn into a 15-14 deficit at the TTO. on a service error and a block of Olsen.
UH switches liberos. Komisarek in for Kanetake. UH up 17-16.
This is Komisarek’s first action of the season. He is a JC transfer from Irvine Valley. played for Tom Pestolesi. UH up 19-18 on a big block by Averill. TO CBU.
How can both officials miss the overlap on CBU?
Kanetake back in. UH with another block by Averill, leads 21-18
Wade has a case. Ramos’ serve was so in. Sedore with the kill. it’s 24-21 TO CBU
11. Yep. Wade has been complaining all night about the overlap. not a good outing by the officials tonight
Sedore off the block. UH wins 25-22
UH hit 360 for Set 2. CBU down to earth .250
combined: west 4-2-12 (no kills in set 2). Sedore 4-0-11 (all in Set 2). Averill 5-1-8, Zarkovic 4-0-7, Olsen 5-3-9
UH 5 blocks, CBU 2. UH 5 aces, 11 SEs. 2 aces, 5 SEs in Set 2. CBU 2 aces, 10 SEs. 1 ace, 4SEs in set 2
UH 9 digs, CBU 17.
I was hoping for a quick match too. The Corner Kitchen is calling on Kapahulu. 😉
It’s closer than I’d expected.
CBU’s No. 10 celebrated a little too early. Kanetake dug it and then UH stuffed No. 10. UH up 2-1
CBU has taken advantage of their 6-11 middle in the middle. Johnson is long and lanky.
Nice stuff of Johnson by the 6-8 West. UH up 14-11
Olsen with the kill, puts UH up 15-12 at the TTO
Johnson had two misconnections, UH up 17-12 TO CBU. Johnson an interesting story. I would have thought that at 6-11 he would have played basketball. He played football and volleyball at Lakeside High then two VB seasons at Long Beach City. Think he is playing on a medical hardship this season. Played in just 4 matches last year.
In 2012 he was second on the team in aces He hasn’t served this match, isn’t playing back row.
UH up 23-16. TO CBU. Lancers coach doesn’t look old enough but he played at LMU before they dropped the program (2000).
Zarkovic with the kill. UH wins 25-17
Two straight blocks and UH up 3-0 in Set 4. Best thing is that it has quieted the obnoxious fans sitting behind me. make that 3 straight blocks. it’s 4-0. TO CBU
I’m listening to the match and following the stats. So Blocksom was blocked three times in a row. He should be called Blocked-Some. I wonder if he thinks of his strange name.
UH up 15-7 at the TTO. Blocksom from Japan, transfer from UCLA
Sedore with his sixth kill, puts UH up 17-7. TO CBU. Averill one kill away from a double-double. He has 9 kills and has been in on 10 blocks.
Fey in for Zarkovic. Averill has his double double 10 kills 12 blocks
UH wins 25-10. back in a bit
