I think at the end of the season UH was a better team than PSU, Lewis and ball State but oh well.

They also swept Pepperdine, took 2 out of 3 from UCLA, and split with Stanford. All teams ranked above them. I wish Marks had stayed but a really good nucleus returns and the service game that was so much of their trademark this year should remain strong. I’m excited for next year. Brooke and Sinisa could contend for conference honors and we will get a look at Iain McKellar the 6’7″ (looks taller to me ) opp. that Wade has been saying great things about. Hope Wade has a prospect in the works to replace Marks.

    Per 951 elite twitter,
UH Beach volleyball just got another huge commitment !! From London Chow. She’s probably the second best high school recruit next to beach partner Sarah Hughes.

Beach coaches are killing it in recruiting.

still no commitment from brooke mcdermott. she has so much potential and her leaping ability is just what dave likes in recruits. still hoping hawaii has a chance to land her. also on her boomers club team is sophmore nikki lyons – great arm swing for such a young girl.

  5. spencer May 7, 2013 11:03 pm

    Lyons is committed to Pepperdine…

  6. Warriorfan May 8, 2013 5:43 am

Hated seeing on volleytalk that Michaela Foecke 2015, committed to Nebraska, was hoping UH had a shot, she looks like a good one.

  7. Warriorfan May 8, 2013 5:47 am

Im not even sure if Mcdermott is someone UH is considering, she might not be a top 100 recruit.

  8. Warriorfan May 8, 2013 5:56 am

    So UH beach recruits are
    2013
    Karissa Cook
    London Chow
    Kelsi Delgado
    Mikayla Tucker
    Hannah Rooks
    Sydney Shinn

    2014
    Kendra Koelsch

probably more on the way, maybe a few transfers.

By the way Chow was the 2011 AAU female beach player of the year.

  9. Warriorfan May 8, 2013 7:12 am

Oh please im very happy with Greeley and Kahakai those two will be very solid college players. Stop over reacting!

    9. I don’t think this is ever Wong’s fault. He is probably recruiting for sand and indoor but only the sand players are committing and indoor players are considering other schools. Indoor has over a hundred more schools to choose from and Hawaii is a beautiful place to play beach volleyball.

  11. Cindy Luis May 8, 2013 8:07 am

WF, thanks and sorry. have deleted original No. 9

This is the time for sand recruiting signings. this is not the time for indoor signings.
And, besides, this is twitter. until they have the NLIs nothing official.
Wong also on the road making contacts with potential indoor recruits.
    Let it go.

^Sorry my post was in reply to another comment but I don’t see that comment anymore….

    1. Hawaii was probably the better team over Penn State. It is reflected in the way the coaches voted, that a final four team not even Top 10. It was a very week EIVA and adds to the case for an 8-team playoff.

  14. Cindy Luis May 8, 2013 8:12 am

    12. vbf, see No. 11.
I have said that I will delete the continued haranguing of Wong.
I am not on 24-7 and I do have to play catchup.

Interesting that the Wahine team will beat Texas in the home opener resulting in a top AVCA #5 ranking, cosequential-ly.

The Wahine then loses to LBSU in October, on the road, dropping them to AVCA #8 in the rankings.

With or without key players on their roster, Na Wahine IS an elite NCAA WVB (8) team this 2013-14 season.

How’s those of you, doodoos doing??
