4 with Hawaii ties on FIVB men’s world championship team

Of the 14-player roster, 4 have Hawaii ties, on the team that begins play Aug. 31 in Poland.

Setters Micah Christenson (Kamehameha, USC) and Kawika Shoji (‘Iolani, Stanford)
Liberos Erik Shoji (Punahou, Stanford) and Alfee Reft (Hawaii).

Nice to see Reft back. He could never seem to be a consistent contributor during the previous quads. Is he still coaching at Minessota as well?

I think they should pass out more advertising for the fall season. I don’t think anyone is joining in. The book is a good idea, but there are lots of people on O’ahu or state of Hawai’i. 13,000 seats at Stan Sheriff Center. 1.3% fillings?
