Softball: Wahine earn NFCA academic honors

Seven Rainbow Wahine softball players were included on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete list released this week.

Players with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher for the 2013-14 academic year were eligible and UH was represented by Brittany Hitchcock, Jori Jasper, Krysta Kali, Sharla Kliebenstein, Loie Kesterson, Ula Reis-Moniz and Keiki Carlos.

Jasper played her senior year as a graduate student and Kliebenstein completed her degree work in the spring. Kesterson and Carlos were sophomores and Hitchcock, Kali and Reis-Moniz earned the honor in their freshman year.


The NFCA recognized a total of 1,096 Division I players with the academic award.

    Congratulation ladies!!! Studies more important than winning, but Coach Bob may think otherwise. Looking forward to a great season and also to the chili-dogs + bag of chips. Great way to spend an afternoon at the RWSS.
