The Hawaii soccer team broke through late with scores by Raisa Strom-Okimoto and Lei Medeiros in topping North Dakota State 2-0 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium on Saturday.

It was the fourth goal of the season for both players. Strom-Okimoto struck in the 78th minute on a header assist from Medeiros which freed the senior co-captain up in the box and she fired a rocket across her body behind the goalkeeper. Medeiros snuck behind the keeper in the final minute of play and tapped a shot in when NDSU inadvertently played a ball back. Medeiros was initially called offside but the call was overturned and UH celebrated.

Goalkeeper Lex Mata recorded her third shutout of the season.

UH (4-3-1) faces Grand Canyon (3-8) at 5 p.m. Sunday to conclude the Rainbow Wahine Shootout, as well as nonconference play for UH.
