I was happy to see Tui get recognized . He as been outstanding. Joe is worth the price of admission and Coach Wade says he will even improve.

I like that Gage is getting some meaningful playing time, playing back row for the OPP in the 2nd rotation, and he gets to serve, too. 😆 Gives him good experience he’ll need later this year and in future years.

I hate this schedule, hard to get excited about any of this weekends games, hope in future seasons they avoid sunday matches like UCLA/irvine, bring them here when the basketball teams are away so they can play saturdays/fridays.

    16. relax, the schedule gets better from here on out. Friday/Sunday matches have been around for years, why complain now? As long as bb is in season, they take precedence.

Looking forward to the Alumni game. Lots of banter between Josh Walker and the players.

    I am not a robot.

Yeah….UH cannot be bumping Wahine basketball off the SSC floor in favor of Men’s volleyball. The title IX mafia going be all up on Charlie Wade so fast that he going get whiplash.

Basketball get priority..both men and women. That how it is in the sports hierarchy. Volleyball fans won’t like it but that is the way it is.

18 – from what I understand, each coach submits their schedule, which then goes into a master AD schedule. Any conflicts are resolved by the AD (and the conference(s), I guess). I remember a few years ago, the final day of the Outrigger tournament was on a Sunday because a certain former bb coach pitched a fit and the former AD caved. 2 of the teams could not play on Sunday, so it wasn’t a true round robin tournament.

    new thread up.
    16. they got who they could get. As have pointed out, with the drop from 18 to 10 conference matches, they have to fill with someone.
UCLA is nonconference. UCI is conference and will be here every other season.

    17. Title IX has nothing to do with it. The Big West sets the schedule and basketball gets priority. Volleyball has long had to work around basketball, and that goes for both the men’s and women’s schedule.
Not sure why you feel the need to blame it on something else. The women BK team was on the road this weekend so what is your point?
As always, things change once basketball is done in March.
    18. the Big West now has to take men’s volleyball into consideration But basketball has and always will have priority.
2007 was odd. BYU 2-0, Penn State 1-1. 3. Loyola-Chicago. 4. UH 0-2. And BYU would not play on Sunday.
I don’t know if it was UH’s refusal to move the game with San Jose State which was a Thursday, or if was the WAC. Basketball pretty set with Thurs-Sat games.
