Hawaii starting lineup Karaitiana, Mason, Segovia, Morris and King
Hawaii having little problems at UCI, up 30-13 with 345 left in the first half
UH up 35-20 at half. King with 11.
Been watching on Big West TV but went off. UH shooting alittle off. I love it when Karaitiana gets fouled, some time I think she puts on a good act.
Mason hits consecutive 3s and Hawaii running away with this 50-26 with 1445 left.
3. she does a really good job at taking the charge.
I gave up on Big West TV. Been listening on radio.
UH up 70=41 7:01 left
Good game. Hope they play like this with Long Beach coming in next week amazing 2nd half.
UH wins 85-50.
We’ll see what happens with The Beach. will be a big game.
Marissa Wimbley scored a career-high 13 points and Hawaii hit a season-high 10 3-pointers as the Rainbow Wahine blew past UC Irvine 85-50 to win their third straight Big West basetball game Saturday in Irvine, Calif.
Wimbley, Morgan Mason and Briana Harris all hit three 3-pointers for Hawaii (11-7, 3-2). Mason finished with 12 points, all coming in the second half, and Harris, Destiny King and Connie Morris all ended with 11 points.
Mokun Fajemisin had a game-high 16 points and Irene Chavez had 13 for the Anteaters (3-17, 0-5).
The weakest part of the Wahine’s game, 3 point shooting, was its strongest today. Hope this continues. Many of the radio/TV announcers for the opposition mention that the Wahine are a poor shooting team and that opposing teams should pack it in the middle and allow the outside shots. If the Wahine continue to hit the threes, the team has a good chance to win out most of the rest of the conference schedule. It has a strong inside game.
Long Beach State lost to Cal State Northridge today.
Re: #5. Agree with Cindy that the video provided by the various Big West teams are most times pretty bad. The screen constantly freezes and the camera work is often poor. I watched the Long Beach State match today on video and they have replays after every Beach basket, resulting in missing many Northridge baskets. Frustrating. However, I stick with it because the audio usually still works and the announcers are usually adequate to good. I hope the Big West on-line video coverage improves in the future. I follow many Rainbow Warrior and Wahine sports on the road through radio broadcasts and on-line video.
