“We can hardly wait to get out on our new floor, it is going to be something,” University of Hawaii women’s basketball coach Laura Beeman said today as workers have begun the refinishing of the Stan Sheriff Center court.

The floor that the Rainbow Wahine and Rainbow Warriors basketball teams call home was last resurfaced nearly 20 years ago. The Stan Sheriff Center itself is about to enter its 25th year of athletics.

The approximately $90,000 project is scheduled to be finished later this month, a school official said.

“When it is done, the floor will replicate what we have in the (newly renovated) practice gyms, Gym, 1 and Gym 2,” Beeman said.

I hope some of the money went on improving the audio/video systems….
it sounded terrible during the basketball/volleyball games last few seasons.

Nice to see it getting a facelift. Hopefully we don’t wait another 20yrs…

Be done for the MBB and WBB?? What about the WVB? I know they play on Teraflex but the WVB will be the first team that actually step on the SSC court.

Ready for Wahine Volleyball match on August 30? Wahine won’t get much practice time on their own home court. Seems like poor planning.
