The 2019 class of the UH Sports Circle of Honor is set.

The names should be familiar: former Hawaii basketball Fab Fiver and head coach Bob Nash; former athletic director Hugh Yoshida; former national champion diver Emma Friesen; and longtime UH basketball booster Carolyn Berry Wilson.

The four, making up the 37th class into the CoH, will be officially enshrined during homecoming weekend, including the Sept. 21 football game against Central Arkansas.

Stephen Tsai’s full writeup on the four inductees is here.

Per UH, Nash is the 13th UH basketball player to be inducted, Friesen is the second diver, and Yoshida is the ninth athletic director. Berry falls under a special “contributor” category.

I vote for ST under contributor category. I feel ST contributes significantly towards the development of fan interest in UH athletics; maintaining fan interest in bringing the fans closer to the players; in understanding some of the finer points of the sport; and has a wide range and knowledge of the sports that he passes on to us.
