Game Night: UH vs. Humboldt State

Eddie Stansberry buried five 3-pointers to lead the Rainbow Warriors to a 90-54 rout of Division II Humboldt State.

The last dramatic moment was midway through the first half, when the ‘Bows held a 13-11 lead.

But then the ‘Bows went on a 20-0 surge to end all suspense.

Jack Purchase added 15 points, with all of his points coming on 3s.

The ‘Bows seized a 47-21 lead in the first half.

After an uneven opening, the ‘Bows ended up controlling all phases. Jack Purchase, who hit four 3s, scored 12 first-half points. Brocke Stepteau added 11, and Eddie Stansberry connected for 10.

Humboldt State made 8-of-29 shots in the first half, including 1-of-9 from behind the arc.

It was such a sluggish start that the winner of the Shaka Cam was a man who apparently was asleep.

The ‘Bows awakened from a sleepy start to score 10 in a row to move from a 13-11 to 23-11 with 9 minutes to play.

The Rainbow Warriors are seeking a 2-0 start with tonight’s game against Division II Humboldt State.

The ‘Bows were crisp offensively on Friday night, assisting on 22 of 31 baskets.

    Thanks Harold! Your son was an amazing baller in high school. Can’t wait to see him out there on the hardwood after a year of training and getting adjusted to D1 ball.
