The team at San Marcos, considered the most beautiful cathedral in the world. It was built around 1093.
The alpine slide is located behind the team’s hotel in Maribor, Slovenia. The slalom-like course is much like a single-person roller coaster on a rail. The ride lasts about 90 seconds. Unless the weather clears up Saturday, Hawaii will not be trying it out. Officials say the track needs to be completely dry before it can be used.
The Old Bridge across the Drava River in Maribor, Slovenia. It was built in 1913.
Old Vine, registered by the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living vine in the world, is over 400 years old. It still produces grapes of the noble variety and is in front of The Old Vine House, a combination museum and wine-tasting room.
The umbrellas, jackets and gloves came out during a visit to Maribor city center Friday. The Rainbow Wahine visited several famous sites including the Freedom Monument. Imposed on the dark sphere-shaped memorial are the faces of the 167 Maribor locals who were executed by German soldiers occupying the Slovenian town during World War II.
This is the Dras Center, a Slovenian training center and hotel that hosts visiting national teams. Currently staying at the center is the Croatian women’s team with the Portuguese women’s national team in on Sunday. Hawaii has practiced, had played two matches here as well as had most of its team meals since arriving in Maribor Thursday.
