Many of you may have gotten the short story that ran in our first edition. There was a longer one in the second edition that also ran online. Just wanted to explain.

Sad the best womens volleyball can get is ESPNU and ESPN3.

  2. Kauaiboy December 8, 2019 2:56 pm

What’s up with all the early start times ? Sooo strange!

  3. Connor December 8, 2019 3:01 pm

You have two different times for starting times for UH game: 10:30 or 11:30?

  4. Sheila December 8, 2019 3:52 pm

Few traveling tips to WI : If going from hot to cold too quickly, remember to wear NECK SCARF, etc . Ref: https://www.seventhwaveuk.com/content/119-the-health-benefits-of-a-neck-scarf …Because much of our heat leaves the body through the upper region of the body, wear neck scarf, etc when going outdoors…Also beware of :…winter vomiting bug, norovirus is an extremely infectious stomach bug. It can strike all year round, but is more common in winter and in places such as hotels and schools…Hopefully, focus is ONLY on Regional, not any winter sightseeing, etc.

thanks. my math is failing me
    4. these players have done plenty of traveling.
They will be focused but there is down time, just like they had when they were at home. not sure what’s to see in Madison. when we were there in 2004 (Green Bay) there was Packer Stadium and cheese curds.

  7. Cindy Luis December 8, 2019 7:07 pm

    2. sadly it’s all about TV but then only half the games are.
    BTW all times are HST

  8. Optimist December 8, 2019 8:02 pm

Hopefully they are leaving early Tuesday and get in late Tuesday or very early Wednesday (which would be late afternoon early evening Hawaii time), as opposed to later afternoon, evening flight and arrive later Wednesday.
Even though televised/streaming times odd times, at least worked better for Wahine that they got the later time in Wisconsin. Playing at 11:30 Hawaii time is much better than 9 for the Wahine. Being there only a couple of days their bodies will most likely still be on Hawaii time.
Also related to the attendance, if they played the first match, the “home court” environment would probably more pro Nebraska biased than playing in the second match. This is based on a huge assumption that Wisconsin fans would prefer to root for Hawaii over Nebraska and that it would be more likely that some Wisconsin fans from the first match might stick around for the Hawaii,-Nebraska match. As opposed to come early to watch the Hawaii-Nebraska match, if that match were to precede the Wisconsin match.

Wow I knew Okino got a lot of highlight worthy digs, but I didn’t realize she had 20! In a sweep!

  10. T103 December 9, 2019 5:23 am

Hmm so anyone happen to know which sports businesses are planning on showing the Vball game? Sadly, I don’t Cath ESPN3. boooo.

  11. sports for fun December 9, 2019 7:29 am

    10 espn3.com. It’s espn’s streaming website

  12. NotNasti December 9, 2019 9:00 am

Re ESPN3: Yes. Anyone can access ESPN3. It is online video streaming, for your mobile device or computer. You can watch it on the ESPN app, and “cast” it to your television if you have Chromecast on your television.

  13. koleni December 9, 2019 11:34 am

i think you might be able to use the Big West site to watch the 12/13/19 game vs Nebraska like you do during the volleyball season when a game is televised on ESPN3.
Go to https://bigwest.org/. Select “Big West Digital”. Then select “ESPN3” on left side. Will take you to WatchESPN site. Tap “Schedule and Replays”. A “Schedule” menu shows up. Select “Live now” or “Upcoming”. (“Upcoming” will give you a “calendar” to select a given date). Select “Volleyball” in “All Sports” column. Select “ESPN3” in “All Networks” column. A list of volleyball games will show up. Select the game you want to watch. Good luck! Go HAWAII!!!!

I heard that tickets to the Madison regional sold out in 20 minutes. I guess that’s what happens when you put the teams with the top 3 subregional attendances in the same region.

Imua, Na Wahine! Beat Big Red!

  15. Big Island Volleyball Fan December 9, 2019 2:22 pm

Cindy, will the athletic department supply warm clothing like parkas for the players, at least those who are Hawaii born like Rika Akino? In Hawaii they wouldn’t need such warm clothing and why should they buy them only for one time use? Or would they have to borrow warm clothes from friends or neighbors?

Have a pleasant trip despite the cold.

!. Sad? No, I am so GLAD that ESPN3 will broadcast the match. Now I can watch it LIVE (unlike Spectrum Sports) and the quality of ESPN3 is really good. I guess you’ll miss our commentators, Leahey and McLaughlin. At least they won’t have to fly out to cold Wisconsin.

  16. kahuna December 9, 2019 3:46 pm

I don’t think anybody have to worry about clothing. Under Armour is the best. They have warm gear for cold weather and cool gears for hot weather.

The girls will be taken care of without them or the university spending extra money.

  17. Big Island Volleyball Fan December 9, 2019 4:13 pm

    16. Thank you for your response. Glad to hear that Under Armor will be taking care of the girls.

  18. Cindy Luis December 9, 2019 4:39 pm

    8. team leaving Tuesday afternoon. get in wednesday morning. they don’t play until Friday.
    14. or they put it in a place with only 7000 seats. Wisconsin has been selling out their arena frequently
    15. they’ll be fine in terms of warm weather gear. don’t know what they’ll be provided with.
as for Sad … yes sad that only one of the third round from each regional is on ESPNU. the others relegated to online. I was not referring to Spectrum televising it
    BTW it’s Okino and McLachlin.

  19. Rboy December 9, 2019 5:27 pm

Hope Gong is traveling as well. Even though she hasn’t had much court time, just reward for 3 years of team contributions.

  20. Cindy Luis December 9, 2019 7:01 pm

    https://www.hawaiiwarriorworld.com/?p=52350
tickets available for Wahine fans through UH’s allotment
    see link on new thread
    19. i believe Gong is traveling but, like last weekend, she won’t be dressing.
