Langston fills out Wahine coaching staff

The Rainbow Wahine basketball team’s coaching staff is now complete.

UH announced today the hiring of Brad Langston to fill the last vacancy on the staff headed by Laura Beeman. Langston joins associate coach Alex Delanian and assistant to the head coach Calamity McEntire.

Langston’s addition with the UH staff will mark his entry into Division I coaching. He was an assistant coach at West Campus High School in Sacramento, Calif. for the last five years and founded the Evolution Skills Academy, helping several players reach the college level.

“His charismatic and warm personality made him an immediate fit into our ohana,” Beeman said in the UH release. “Brad’s strength in player development could not come at a better time for us. With our young roster, his ability to teach, motivate and develop players is immeasurable not only on, but off the court as well.”

Beeman noted player development as a priority with a roster that includes seven freshmen.

The announcement also defined the roles the new members of the staff will fill. McEntire will serve as recruiting coordinator and handle scheduling along with on-court coaching and scouting. Langston will be involved in “player development, on-court coaching, scouting and offensive and defensive strategies.”

Teneshia Ruff returns for her second year at Director of Operations and Scott Young also remains on staff as video coordinator.
