Third-string QB will start for Nevada

Things just got a little rosier for UH about an hour before kickoff against Nevada. Reno Gazette-Journal columnist Chris Murray just reported what we’d suspected — injured quarterback Cody Fajardo will not play and third-stringer Tyler Stewart gets the start.

Murray reports that info was known to a few folks earlier in the week, which explains the point spread change from Hawaii opening as a 14-point underdog and going to a 7 1/2 point dog as of this morning.

Second-stringer Devin Combs is out with a torn ACL suffered last week against Florida State.

I’m sticking to my preseason pick of Hawaii winning this game. It will happen, however, only if the Rainbow Warriors can play a relatively clean game on offense.

Nevada’s 3rd string qb is still better than uh’s 1st qb. Nevada will win.

Hopefully Graham, Moleni, Iosefa, Yap, and Gener can recover quickly.
