Warriors seeking GA for D-line

The Warriors are seeking a replacement for Numi Lolohea, who accepted a graduate assistant’s job at Tennessee.

Lolohea was the Warriors’ GA for the defensive line last year.

The process for being accepted into a graduate program is lengthy, but working as a UH grad assistant or intern has been a boost to careers.

Since the end of the 2018 season, Billy Ray Stutzmann has been hired as offensive assistant coach at Navy, Jake Thomas joined Azusa Pacific as the offensive line coach, and Makana Garrigan was named running backs coach at Maine.

So I saw Tavai at the combine today. No drills though. Still recovering from injury. I dont know if I missed it, but is UH partnering with anyone on a pro day? If so, do we know who is gonna participate?

This is the starting line-ups I wish Ganot would use on this road trip.

Vs. Davis…. SF Purchase PF Raimo C Carper SG Drammeh PG Buggs 6th Stansberry 7th Stepteau 8th Avea. Start the game with energy and defense (Drammeh) and “bullying” the block. Bring shooting and playmaking off the bench this game. Can still distribute the minutes pretty evenly among the guards. Expand the offensive role of Carper this game (iso him). Green light Stansberry too.

Vs. Fullerton…. PF Purchase SF Avea C Raimo SG Drammeh PG Buggs 6th Stansberry 7th Stepteau 8th Carper. Start this game with defense and athleticism. Give Avea extended minutes and more responsibilities defensively as starter and allow him to find a role/niche offensively. Again green light Stansberry. Insist Raimo dunk at least twice.

Got to get Avea, Carper, Drammeh and Stansberry ready to produce come Tournament time, The rest are pretty consistent as far as expectation. When everyone knows their roles and knows where their abilities will be depended on, they can figure out how to beat Irvine, UCSB and anybody else. Got to give some reps while its available since seeding means nothing. I think they can do it. They can do this.

Coach Rolo how about considering one of the top defensive lineman, and former Warrior football players, also played in the NFL for Denver I believe, MAA Tanuvasa for your staff.

Remember that being a GA also involves being a half-time student.

Thought you’d enjoy reading Cole’s own account since he got here – very revealing. My respect and appreciation for him, which was already high, has gone even higher.
