    He said they’re like twins.

  8. Idunnonuthing February 6, 2018 9:53 am

I wonder what happened to Feary from St. Louis. I know he was offered early on…he’s a legit player.

  9. kapakahi February 6, 2018 9:59 am

    ST,

Some of us have seen the twins up close when Justus visited during the 2017 Fall Camp.

The younger twin looks almost as tall as his older twin……so probably closer to 6-3.

  10. Haleakala February 6, 2018 10:06 am

    Awesome!

  11. kapakahi February 6, 2018 10:08 am

    #8,

No doubt legit talent, but heard from reliable source that…….might be academics.

    thank you kapakahi!

  15. Kifi February 6, 2018 10:18 am

Maybe Panoke is a grayshirt? Or else he would have signed in the Winter?

  16. Maddog50 February 6, 2018 10:26 am

Just saw on twitterAlex Dalpe committed-

  17. haka February 6, 2018 10:30 am

So we got the bookend tackles from City College of San Francisco. Well, they say, Tsai’s matters…

  18. turfwar February 6, 2018 10:31 am

Kapakahi those two guys Dalpe and Charitte are gonna be good players for somebody. Both are pretty violent at the point of attack. They would have definitely helped us too.

  19. haka February 6, 2018 10:32 am

    Maddog50 sharing more love…

  20. turfwar February 6, 2018 10:32 am

    We got Dalpe?

  21. Maddog50 February 6, 2018 10:44 am

I sure hope after tomorrow nobody feels compelled to continue the saga of former players!!! This class is sizing up huge!

  22. DaveLetterMan February 6, 2018 10:44 am

    Turfwar, looks like it:

    https://twitter.com/JuCoFootballACE/status/960973930336083969

Would make sense for an OC kid like Dalpe to prefer the warmer beach climate.

  24. DaveLetterMan February 6, 2018 10:46 am

Maddog, forgot them already after seeing the list.

  25. turfwar February 6, 2018 11:10 am

We could look a lot different up front next year.

  26. wafan February 6, 2018 11:40 am

Gosh, those are some big guys! Whoo-hoo!!!

  27. turfwar February 6, 2018 12:09 pm

https://247sports.com/Player/Sama-Paama-46051746 Dang. Up till the last month or so Hawaii was the only offer for Sama Paama a 6’5 325 OL out of Kaimuki. Then the Huskies offered and now USC has just jumped in. Was hoping he was gonna be a hidden gem till next year but the recruiting wars are on now for this guy. There’s a recent arrival from Samoa at Kailua who’s 6’6 and about 180 and plays SF and is a heck of a athlete. Isaiah Hopson is African Samoan(?) and plans to play football next year according to some Kailua parents and if he shows any of the athletic ability he displays on a basketball court this guy could add to a loaded class of 2019. Rolo will have his hands full recruiting locally next year.

  28. Maddog50 February 6, 2018 12:23 pm

After tomorrow I would be bangin on Dave Marlins door to get my season tickets. This roster will welcome 30 plus new players including WO. New mo betta staff new offense and I bet big new uni’s! Would love to get them acclimated and ready-my wish? Light on the Aloha, extra helping of Warrior please!!!! GoWarriors!!!!

  29. Maddog50 February 6, 2018 12:24 pm

    Matlin

  30. Wayne Shigeo Mukai February 6, 2018 12:33 pm

Yes, I AGREE with Maddog, should be a fun year next year!! Great job of recruiting, Rolo!

    https://247sports.com/player/ernest-moore-46052415

Any reports on this guy? He’s really big according to his twitter and was offered by CAL, Purdue and UCF in 2017

  32. kapakahi February 6, 2018 2:02 pm

UH players (Dejon Allen, Trayvon Henderson, DSJ, Tui Unga, etc.) all snubbed by the NFL for the upcoming 2018 NFL Combine.
    https://philsteele.com/2018/02/06/2018-nfl-combine-invite-list/

  33. cheepono February 6, 2018 2:31 pm

    @bigerndoe = Ernest Moore

  34. graham February 6, 2018 3:37 pm

#31- How is it possible that Dejon and Trayvon did not get invited? This is very troubling news on a couple of fronts. Firstly, they are both great players who deserved to be drafted. Secondly, this can hurt recruiting because future recruits will look at this and wonder what they have to do to get the proper NFL exposure t Hawaii.

  35. DaveLetterMan February 6, 2018 4:19 pm

UH got a greyshirt WR commit
    https://twitter.com/SamSpanglerKHON/status/961043395517927426

  36. turfwar February 6, 2018 4:39 pm

Mahalo DLM. He’s a big receiver. Was wondering when he was going to pick up offers. Had a good season.

  37. Petey808 February 6, 2018 4:40 pm

Looks like a pretty good class! Anybody hear anything about Mermea? Is he transferring?

  38. Haleakala February 6, 2018 5:14 pm

Interesting story about Scotty Mccleod who had to persevere.

  39. DaveLetterMan February 6, 2018 5:28 pm

Panoke to sign and grey shirt
    https://twitter.com/StephenTsai/status/961077989604667393

  40. Kahuna February 6, 2018 6:27 pm

Scotty mostly played slot in the highlights. If he continues to play slot, he would be a physical type slot. Maybe a slot/TE type of player. It’s would be a little different since the pure RNS doesn’t have TE but Rolo should be able to make it work.

Would be awesome if he somehow turn into a 6-3 220lb slot with 4.5 speed. Matchup nightmare there.

  41. A-House February 6, 2018 7:11 pm

UH offensive coaches — do not hesitate to put in 6′ 4″, 6′ 5″or 6′ 6″ slots who can run, got good hands, and get “block-out” safeties down the middle.

ST going to UH early in the morning to witness the LOIs coming in from the mainland players?

    happy days are here again!!!

  42. kapakahi February 6, 2018 8:18 pm

With his soft hands and ball skills as well as being a physical blocker, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Scotty eventually develop into a 3rd down Hback……who could motion out as a slot……or catch swing passes out of the backfield……or provide max pass protection.

  43. DaveLetterMan February 7, 2018 4:31 am

    Morning Tsaikos!
    Exciting day!!
If Dalpe signs then we’ll have 3 OL from CC of San Francisco – Levao, Moorr & Dalpe.

  44. Irse February 7, 2018 4:50 am

Dalpe is from Long Beach City College

  45. DaveLetterMan February 7, 2018 4:59 am

My mistake. Dalpe from Long Beach CC.

  46. A-House February 7, 2018 5:30 am

holy moley Andy — up early guys!

just back from the gym and had to check out if any LOI submitted

like others, this is a very good recruiting class!!!

    way 2 go Coaches!!!

  54. clyde February 7, 2018 7:34 am

    Reportedly, Faumui to Virginia

  55. islandman February 7, 2018 7:35 am

Faumui to Virginia, per scoring live announcer.

  56. Jimmy February 7, 2018 7:36 am

Disappointed, but this is what happens with 18 yo kids.

  57. kapakahi February 7, 2018 7:39 am

    Major bummers!

  58. A-House February 7, 2018 7:47 am

    OK, let’s just move on!

  59. H-Man February 7, 2018 7:58 am

Hey, we got Justus Tavai. It’s a win for Hawaii. And WR Michael Washington who is now our highest rated recruit by 247. I would say it’s a win-win.

  60. clyde February 7, 2018 8:10 am

Perhaps this might help salve a little of the disappointment ….

    Aloha…..

  63. Inyoface February 7, 2018 8:23 am

He’ll be homesick after a year or so garanz

  64. diamonds808 February 7, 2018 8:23 am

Despite some not wanting to stay home, others want to come and play so LET’S GO WARRIORS! Looks like they got some great recruits and i’m excited to see another Tavai on the team.

  65. Idunnonuthing February 7, 2018 8:24 am

I’m over it, what’s done is done. Good luck to Faumui!

  66. islandman February 7, 2018 8:29 am

Virginia is known for basketball, not football.

  67. azwarrior22 February 7, 2018 8:31 am

    It’ll be a culture shock.

  68. Maddog50 February 7, 2018 8:33 am

Class is still way better than any in last several years. Just FYI Bronco Mendenhall to schools officials this would be a five year rebuild at UVA. The current recruiting class as of now is 13th in ACC and 62nd nationally-might be longer than he thought! I really like our incoming group and we will be much improved and deeper at key spots. The addition of Dalpe and Washington were great surprises-GoWarriors!!!

  69. DaveLetterMan February 7, 2018 8:36 am

    Moore on the books.

  70. DaveLetterMan February 7, 2018 8:51 am

Scott Mcleod signed and Panoke is listed as signing in December

  71. haka February 7, 2018 8:51 am

Washington crossing the Pacific may be the best and biggest surprise. We really needed a boost in the slot. Glad he chose to be a Warrior!

  72. papajoe2 February 7, 2018 8:55 am

Really bummed that Faumui decommitted from the Warriors. Has he been up there? It’s freezing during the winter months. Every man for himself up there. Well, I hope he embraces a different style life and enjoys himself. He is going to miss the weather here and lifestyle here. Aloha!

  73. kapakahi February 7, 2018 8:56 am

Golden West JC safety Manase Time?

  74. kapakahi February 7, 2018 9:08 am

    #69,

Faumui tripped to UVA 2 weekends ago. He was their back-up DT recruit who only got offered last week after UVA’s primary DT recruiting target committed to Miami.

  75. haka February 7, 2018 9:14 am

    Time’s up!
    He’s a Warrior!!

  76. haka February 7, 2018 9:24 am

Despite the saber to the opu, this class is very, very exciting. I think the coaches did a wonderful job addressing all the needs. We got the much needed beef and skills. Mahalo to all the new Warriors! And kudos to the coaches. Go Warriors!

  77. AllG February 7, 2018 10:00 am

Every year we always seem to have one local recruit that breaks our heart on signing day. Oh well no one will remember his name in a year, next man up.

  78. Boolakanaka February 7, 2018 10:03 am

Big loss for us, but I’m happy for him. UVA is a really great institution and it’s academics are really stellar.

  79. haka February 7, 2018 10:16 am

For all the Faumui’s, there are the Tavai’s.
Young men having to make the best and biggest decision of their lives.
Whether staying home or going away, it’s aloha either way.

And then you have the likes of the Sila’s and the Huddleston’s wanting more.
Sacrificing and embracing the opportunity to earn their way to be where they want to be.

As a fan, we can only hope, dream and support.
There’s only one team. The best team. The home team. The Warriors.
    Go Warriors!
