Guard visits // Away we go
Garrett Jefferson, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard out of Citrus College (Calif.), took an unofficial visit to the Manoa campus with members of his family on Thursday. He was able to watch one of the Hawaii men’s basketball team’s final practices before the Rainbow Warriors depart for Asia on Friday morning.
Jefferson averaged 7.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game as a freshman on a deep Citrus team which went 27-6 last season.
He earned his associates degree and has three years of eligibility remaining. He is expected to make a decision on his next college destination sometime this month, Hawaii obviously among them.

So here we are, the Asia trip is upon us. Guess I should have brushed up on my Mandarin. Hmm … this should be interesting. I will be leaving this morning for South Korea, then it’s on to the southernmost region of China to link up with the team.
I won’t be blogging on the trip, but I’ll be writing plenty for the hard copy and online editions of the paper over the course of the next 17 days. I’ll try to hit all major aspects of the trip and provide a few other angles on things as they come up. I have a few ideas in mind, but there will undoubtedly be plenty of other, unanticipated things to write about, too.
It’s time. Let’s do it.
Good Luck!
Wish I could’ve gone…
Trip of a lifetime, have fun.
