Brocke Stepteau gets a chance to step up tonight against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

UH’s 5-foot-9 walk-on guard — “B-Step” — has been elevated into the starting lineup for the first time in the sophomore’s career. His role has expanded drastically over the last few games, when he’s taken over playmaking duties late in games for the 3-3 Rainbow Warriors.

He’s mentioned more than once how going head-to-head against the likes of Roderick Bobbitt and Quincy Smith in practices the last two years helped prepare him for more responsibility. Well, now he really gets to show his stuff.

Sheriff Drammeh is being shifted off the ball, while Leland Green will come off the bench for the first time.

Forward Gibson Johnson is ready to roll after sitting out practice Saturday with his left foot in a precautionary protective boot.

UAPB (1-4) hasn’t come within 27 points in the last three meetings. Can they fare better against these young ‘Bows? Look for the Golden Lions to spread out their zone to nearly midcourt and try to trap UH when the ball gets swung to the sidelines.
