After earning a rare feat in the annals of UH basketball, Roderick Bobbitt received his second Big West Player of the Week award of the season on Monday.

Bobbitt became just the third player in recorded program history to notch back-to-back games of 30 points in UH’s Diamond Head Classic semifinal loss to No. 3 Oklahoma and subsequent third-place win over Auburn. In those two games, he played all 40 minutes.

Bobbitt weighed in on his award thusly Monday night: “It’s pretty cool to have won (the) PoW twice this season but it’s time to lock in and focus on getting better before conference starts that’s what matters right now.”

He is the first UH player to receive multiple Big West weekly awards in a season since Christian Standhardinger in 2013-14. The ‘Dinger also did it in 2012-13.

UH (9-2) has two home nonconference games remaining, including winless Mississippi Valley State (0-13) on Tuesday.

As of Monday, the Rainbows clocked in at an impressive 56 in Division I RPI to lead the Big West. However, even should the Bows blast MVSU, that is sure to dip; the Delta Devils are one of the lowest in RPI around 338, as you might expect with their record.
