UH draws UC Davis

By Stephen Tsai on May 16, 2010

The Rainbow Wahine will open against UC Davis in the NCAA Regional at Stanford. Stanford plays Texas Tech in the first round of the double-elimination Regional. * * * * * The best thing about the Rainbow Wahine’s championship victory was that it was their own doing. They didn’t have to rely on another team for help. And they did it on the road. (I don’t care if it’s deemed a neutral field; any itinerary that requires three flights, a […]

The Rainbow Wahine advanced to the championship game of the WAC Tournament with a 16-1 softball victory over Fresno State. To keep up with the Rainbow Wahine softball team today, listen to ESPN 1420, go to WACsports.com or follow Curtis Murayama’s updates on our Web site. First pitch is at 7:30 a.m. Hawaii time. * * * * * Just thinking aloud: Unlike some of the other UH sports, the softball team doesn’t have an end-of-the-year banquet, so … * * * * * It’s interesting that ASUH, UH’s student government, opposes the proposed student fee. It’s interesting that the […]

Hisatake, Salas

By Stephen Tsai on May 11, 2010

Big thanks to offensive lineman Ray Hisatake and slotback Greg Salas for appearing on today’s Warrior Beat Show. Lots of good questions. The replay is available somewhere on our site . * * * * * Several years ago, I needed to reach our office manager, Leslie Kawamoto. I went through the White Pages, found her name and number, and called. A man answered. Me: May I speak to Leslie? Man: I’m Leslie. Me: Sorry, I was looking for a […]

The scheduled 6:30 flight was the first leg of a journey to Las Cruces, N.M., site of this week’s WAC tournament. This also is finals week. The Rainbows brought along academic adviser Denise […]
