Home stretch

By Stephen Tsai on November 18, 2012

The Warriors are off today, then begin resume practicing tomorrow ahead of the final two games of the year – UNLV this Saturday, South Alabama after that — with both at home. The QB position will be “evaluated” this week. That means Jeremy Higgins will get to prove that he is more like the way he played in UH’s first four drives against Air Force than how he was in the second half; that Sean Schroeder is healthy after being […]

Put all of your thoughts down on paper, wait eight hours, and see if you still feel the same way. Just don’t keep refreshing the page. (By the way, I get credited with views whether you comment or not.) Anyway, have a great one. Chat with you guys later.

In baseball, pitchers not in the rotation sometimes are sent to the minors to get some extra work. At UH, players not on the two-deep chart often are used on scout teams. It’s not a demotion, UH coach Norm Chow said. “We don’t want people standing around.” Wideout Darius Bright spent a couple of weeks on scout team before being reinstated to the two-deep roster. He started against Boise State this past weekend. David Graves has been on scout team […]

New direction?

By Stephen Tsai on November 11, 2012

Coach Chow was correct to stand by his quarterback. Sean Schroeder was clearly the best in practices. And it is never a good thing for a quarterback to have to worry if every interception or sack will cost him his position. “One snap and clear” is one thing, believing it is another. And Chow is correct that the ineffectiveness of the offense — an ensemble malfunction — means that the QB position needs to be put out to bid. Too […]
