By Cindy Luis on May 13, 2013

Appears Stauber will be up at Santa Clara next season. Heard about this last week, been working on confirming it. A good source has. Interesting since there were three other setters on the 2012 Bronco roster, all underclassmen. Anderson, a junior, with 827 assists, Heier, a sophomore, with 588 Sophomore Sliger played in 10 sets.

State boys volleyball

By Cindy Luis on May 13, 2013

Some really high-quality play during the tournament, particularly Saturday’s final between Punahou and Kamehameha. very impressed by the defense of both teams. Couple of college coaches in town to scout. Ferguson from USC, Rasay from Stanford. And Hall was at McKinley a couple of the nights I was there. Couple of players have committed for next year: Punahou’s Fey to UH and Peros to Vassar, Kamehameha’s Kaniho and Mosher to Grand Canyon.Moanalua’s Caldwell to play football, looking like either UNLV […]

UCI sweeps BYU for men's title

By Cindy Luis on May 4, 2013

Impressive win by the Anteaters, becoming the first team to win consecutive titles since UCLA in 95-96. UCI wins 25-23, 25-22, 26-24. Think what impressed me the most was UCI holding off three set points in Set 3, down 24-21, scoring five straight with BYU in a bad rotation. Anteaters win the block war 17-6 and did a great job on serve-receive. Sander with 20 of BYU’s 47 kills, not much help. Boyce got pretty predictable at the end. UCI […]
