Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Congrats to Hartong, Bonham Award winner

University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball player Emily Hartong and men’s basketball player Davis Rozitis were the recipients of the 2014 Jack Bonham Award in recognition of their outstanding performances on and off the playing field. The announcement was made Tuesday night at ‘Ahahui Koa ‘Anuenue’s H Awards at the Stan Sheriff Center. The back-up setter answer: Koelsch

Was at sand practice today. Asked Wong about the back-up setter situation Kendra Koelsch who had originally signed to play sand will be on an indoor scholarship and walk on for sand. He said that since she hasn’t started at UH yet, that they can make the scholarship switch. She is 6-0 out of Huntington Beach High.

Here’s the NCAA release http://www.ncaa.com/news/volleyball-men/article/2014-04-27/loyola-chicago-tabbed-top-seed-2014-nc-mens-volleyball agree with most of the comments at the bottom of the previous thread., particularly Lewis over Pepperdine. But the Waves didn’t play any matches outside of the MPSF and that likely hurt them. The seedings were very interesting. Loyola has held steady at No. 1.  But you do see an agenda here.
