Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Warriors practice at Pauley, Thurlby at UCLA

Warriors having a spirited practice in Pauley Friday evening. They had a short film session then took the court. Former UH setter Cayley Thurlby, who has several positions the UCLA athletic office, stayed to help the Warriors get settled in, taking them from film to the pavilion. Taylor to train for Pan Am tryouts

Nice chat with Howling yesterday, had a short in today’s paper. She’s very excited about playing for Hawaii. Think she’ll be a good fit Asked her about her height.
