Why is there no news on spring training for the Wahine Volleyball team?

nothing to report. Have mentioned. they aren’t having a spring match, that they likely are going to Molokai for a clinic next month. they are limited in their practice block for spring.
did a story on Akiu transferring. still waiting on whether her, Granato and Iosia made any of the USA training teams. Coaches have been on mainland recruiting at some of the junior tournaments.
what info were you thinking of?

  4. Bleachercoach March 31, 2018 12:27 pm

Good idea probably of not having a Spring Match. It will be interesting to see other than the 2 Libero/DS transfers and new recruit Trinity Castenada what is there really to see from returnees…I bet Ah Mow and Co. really trying to recruit for long term. It would be a great surprise if we got one or 2 late transfers aka Lexi Sun (highly improbable) that could carry next and following years team. That would be HUGE!! Too bad we couldn’t get that Penn St transfer who went to Wichita St. She is a good one!

  5. Brandon March 31, 2018 12:43 pm

Scoles from UNC is transferring to play beach and indoor. I think she ends up at UCLA but we may have a shot at her. She’s REALLY good

  6. Bleachercoach March 31, 2018 12:44 pm

Very Huge Win today for Sand Bows vs Cal Poly. If we can beat LBSU later today, I think IMO we will be that much more secured of being in Alabama. This week was HUGE.!! Next time we may meet these teams is at the BW Championships held here towards the end. IMO the matches at the BW Challenge was the big one! Only one more tough team to beat…SO PROUD OF THE SANDBOWS

  7. Warriorfan March 31, 2018 3:06 pm

Lexi sun Probably not happening, julia Scoles I hope UH has a shot, she can play more beach here than at ucla, ucla is recruiting very well on the beach side she might not play much over there.

  8. Warriorfan March 31, 2018 3:09 pm

I forgot the big west championships are at queens beach this year, hope its televised, I know oc16 televises the high school beach tournament so why not ocsports?

  9. FitTrainer March 31, 2018 3:26 pm

Great win for the Sand Bows over Cal Poly. It’s too bad they have to face both Cal Poly and LBSU today. I think LBSU is even better than Cal Poly, so if we can get this win on the road it will go a long way towards making the post-season tournament.

  19. turfwar March 31, 2018 4:54 pm

    Mahalo for those posting scores.

  20. Kahuna March 31, 2018 4:57 pm

Robyn and the UH staff need to try and sell Julia Scoles on coming here and getting plenty of PT….both indoor and Beach. Our tentative lineup for indoor may have 3 senior pin hitters(Granato, Castillo and hopefully, Angel Gaskin. Our beach team are also loaded with seniors(Weaver, Kan, and Schucht). If Scoles comes here she will have plenty of opportunity to play.

On the other hand, UCLA indoor team is loaded with freshmen pin hitters. One highly touted one never even saw time last season in Alexis Light.

  21. Warriorfan March 31, 2018 5:02 pm

Scoles is probably good enough ro beat them out she was the number 6 recruit afterall.
Then again maybe scoles goes beach only since her concussion history indoors I hope Coach Hall is recruiting her too.

  22. Cindy Luis March 31, 2018 5:04 pm

A great win for the SandBows. 5-0 over The Beach.
    will post scores from arena.

  23. Warriorfan March 31, 2018 5:06 pm

Great road trip for the wahine.
Think wahine would beat fsu and ucla in rematches, definitey will see those teams in alabama.

  24. noblesol March 31, 2018 5:13 pm

The loser of tomorrow’s Cal Poly and Long Beach match will be in the hurt bag for making the NCAA’s. That should be an intense match-up.

  25. Warriorfan March 31, 2018 5:38 pm

Re24 yup the loser of that match must then beat usc, they both should beat usc and then usc would be left out lol

  26. Cindy Luis March 31, 2018 6:15 pm

    20. IMHO Ah Mow-Santos is not that keen on having players do both.
Both Ah Mow-Santos and Hall are very aware of the top athletes. Not like they aren’t trying to get the best. But that doesn’t mean the athletes want to come here.
