pictures are of Maglio and Schucht being interviewed by Sam Spangler and the seniors

No. 3 Hawaii faces Arizona state at 2 p.m., Boise State at 4 p.m.
TV will broadcast Flt 2 at 7 p.m followed by Flt 1. Then senior festivities.

Maglio will be among the seniors honored tonight. She had mentioned earlier in the week that she was undecided about coming back. Or maybe it was two weeks ago. It’s been a blur with the men and indoor women

Is Paige dreeuws injured? huddleston seems to be playing at flight 5 this weekend.

  2. chink April 15, 2018 4:13 pm

My guess is that Hud is a senior academically, and like Mags, will not be returning next year and so she is being given playing time… especially for senior night. Again, just a guess.

  3. Warriorfan April 15, 2018 4:15 pm

But wouldn’t huddleston be included with Maglio in senior celebrations?
So far UH social media only has listed kan, mags, weaver, shucht, fitterer and zalopany.

  4. chink April 15, 2018 4:21 pm

Haven’t been on social media. If thats the case, than clearly I’m wrong… could be an injury.

  5. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 4:31 pm

    1. Huddleston is a junior. Her cousin is Zalopany, they’ve played a lot together and that’s the pairing for the weekend.

  6. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 4:32 pm

UH doesn’t drop a set in sweeping the Sun Devils.

  7. PBnJz April 15, 2018 4:59 pm

Was gonna come out to watch tonite, but don’t wanna be out there “all night”! Is tv gonna be live so they drag out the evening to not start Flight 2 til 7 pm? Or us tv gonna be a re-broadcast? Seems like in real time, everything should be done by 7…

  8. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 5:33 pm

    UH clinches duel 3-0
    Huddleston will return next year
Dreeus still under concussion protocol She is close to being cleared.
my bad about saying she and Zalopany were cousins. Huddleston and Schucht are cousins.

  9. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 5:34 pm

TV starts at 7 so there is a 90 minute break

  10. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 6:20 pm

Have it on good authority that Julia Scoles the 2016 ACC Freshman of the Year for UNC indoor, has committed to play for the SandBows beginning next spring. She is retiring from indoor, has at least 3 seasons to play for Hawaii. She was injured two matches into the season last year for the Tar Heels, believe it was a concussion.
She is a 6-1 OH. The North Carolina high school POY. came down to Hawaii and UCLA.

  11. Warriorfan April 15, 2018 6:26 pm

great news about Julia Scoles, beating ucla for her.

  12. Volleyman April 15, 2018 6:29 pm

  13. chink April 15, 2018 6:42 pm

Exciting new for the Sandbows…. Maybe she can help us get Taylor Borup for the indoor team:)

  14. vballfreak808 April 15, 2018 6:50 pm

Excited to have Julia out here and yes it is exciting to beat UCLA for a recruit!

As for Borup coming, it’s a possibility but I see she is being recruited by some Pac-12 teams.

  15. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 7:21 pm

    13. i think that is a possibility.

  16. Warriorfan April 15, 2018 7:29 pm

Or how about the 6’7 player instead, carlton? i believe she played with norene in the junior national team last year.

  17. Kahuna April 15, 2018 7:31 pm

Wow…our vball teams(both indoor and beach) are getting players from areas we normally do not get. Very exciting. Scoles may not have the beach background like some but an athlete like her have the tools to be good. Look at Carly Kan. She came in her first year and was starting right away. I can see Scoles having that kind of potential.

  18. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 7:44 pm

SandBows up 4-0 on Broncos with win at Flit 2.

  19. Kahuna April 15, 2018 7:46 pm

Reading up on Julia she is a very talented athlete. Was a 18 ppg basketball player besides being the #1 volleyball player in the state. Listed as having a 30 inches vertical.

Lots of accolades and accomplishments for this young lady.

  20. Brandon April 15, 2018 7:56 pm

Carlton has ALOT of offers right now but hopefully she commits. A 6-2 with her all the way around and iosia with gaskin or even her just at opp and maafala setting has the potential to be very very good.

  21. Brandon April 15, 2018 8:01 pm

If Borup or Carlton commits, I see no way why we don’t run a 6-2. Well have more options for weapons than we’ve had for awhile. The only bad thing about that is a setter like iosia only setting for 3 rotations seems criminal.

  22. Warriorfan April 15, 2018 8:27 pm

Ma’afala can hold her own for three rotations setting in the backrow too.
The wahine block may be huge next season I expect Skyler to improve a lot, at times last season she was an absolute wall.

  23. Cindy Luis April 15, 2018 8:35 pm

    SandBows finish sweep
23 straight for Maglio and schucht Schuchts 100th career win She is No 3 behind Taylor at 105 and spieler at 102

  24. Warriorfan April 15, 2018 8:59 pm

Will miss the seniors , an extremely talented class, hope they end their careers as national champions in Alabama.

  25. Warriorfan April 15, 2018 9:34 pm

Whoever runs the instagram page for the beach team does a great and fun job, wish the indoor teams had the same content.

  26. WaWa April 16, 2018 5:40 am

I love the net that the Wahine coaching staff are casting. They are making money moves. Can’t believe I used that, but if you knew the staff you would know that their personalities, experience, ability to train, etc. are a plus when it comes to attracting future PSAs.

Scoles to beach (only) will still provide a segway for other athletes to explore UH as a transfer destination whether for beach or indoor. It would be very interesting to see if we do land Borup/Carlton. However, I do like the fact that our staff seems to be screening potential transfers to ensure that they are coming in knowing that nothing will be handed to them. Athletes will have to want to work hard at improving their individual skills as well as contributing to team dynamic.

  27. Big Island volleyball fan April 16, 2018 10:16 am

Cindy, I have an important question. Do you know whether the Big West Women’s Beach Volleyball competition will be broadcast on ESPN3? I couldn’t find out from looking at the ESPN3 schedule of upcoming evens. Perhaps you might have heard on the grapevine?

  28. Cindy Luis April 16, 2018 10:24 am
    new thread up for Monday

    27. Beach is not being broadcast on any platform. There will be live stats during the event

ESPN3 will have the Big West men’s volleyball tournament this week.
