UH relief pitcher Dylan Thomas has cut his hair in support of third baseman Ethan Lopez‘s father.

As KHON sports director Rob DeMello first reported last week, Fernando Lopez is battling cancer. Before departing on the recent road trip, Ethan Lopez cut the hair he had been growing for 18 months in support of his father. He donated his hair to Locks of Love, which benefits children undergoing cancer treatment.

Thomas decided to also show support, cutting his recognizable long hair. He also plans to donate the shorn hair to charity.

The Rainbow Warriors host perennial Big West power Cal State Fullerton a three-game series beginning tomorrow night at Les Murakami Stadium.

UH’s rotation is: Aaron Davenport tomorrow, Cade Smith on Friday, and Logan Pouelsen on Saturday.
