Warriors add o-lineman

It went largely unnoticed, but offensive lineman Ben Clarke of Chatfield Senior High in Colorado will be joining the Warriors as a grayshirt in January.

Clarke is 6 feet 4 and 250 pounds.

The original plan was for Clarke to be the final member of the Warriors’ 2011 recruiting class. But when safety Brandon Leslie became available, it was decided to delay Clarke’s arrival. Clarke will enroll as a part-time UH student in the fall, then go on scholarship in January.

As it turned out, the arrangement was better for Clarke, who is currently participating in a four-week mentoring program in Turkey.

Safety/linebacker Eddie Lackey said the Warriors are his leading choice for 2012.

Lackey played at Northwood University in Michigan in 2010. He then decided to transfer to Riverside (Community) College, where he will play this season. He will be eligible to move to a Division I school after he accumulates 48 transferrable credits.

Lackey is friends with UH defensive back John Hardy-Tuliau. Both are 2010 Vista Murietta High graduates.

Still some openings for tonight’s Chat with Mack. It starts at 7 p.m., and it will be held in the UH football offices (second floor of the UH athletic complex).

Video coordinator Chris Williams will be showing some plays.

Condolences to the family of James Yamaguchi.

We can always use more good OL. If Mr. Lackey has the skills of Hardy-Tuliau, look out receivers.

Chatfield, right down the road from Columbine in Littleton. Sounds like this kid got a good head on his shoulders. At 250 lbs, he also got room to grow. I’m also glad to hear about Tuliau’s homeboy being interested in coming out here. Any video on him?

Current players are always the best recruiters.

  25. Kekoa July 6, 2011 7:17 am

BG ~ I’m told that on Sat. Aug. 6th, the Tsaiko Grill Team will start their 7 on 7 unsupervised workouts.

The public is invited. Last season, the introduction of a Flame Thrower to light the BBQ pit, caused some concern. HFD officials have been asked to monitor.

As SteveM has pointed out, when it comes to menu items…Just Bring it Baby! After all, isn’t that what made the T-Gate a feast for the senses as well as the palate?!

  26. al July 6, 2011 7:23 am

some info on the new guy…

    from a cu blog/column

Offensive guard Ben Clarke, Chatfield, Littleton, Colorado

Not a lot said about Clarke and Colorado, but he did meet some former players with CU ties, and was a standout at the summer’s NUC combine. “Clarke has quick feet, which helps him excel in pass protection. He was among the fastest linemen at the NUC, clocking in with a 5.17-forty and 4.92-shuttle.”

Clarke earned second-team all-league honors as a junior, and he was also an Academic all-state selection.

“I have gotten letters and a few calls from colleges, but nothing major,” said Clarke. Was all-conference this year.

  27. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 7:33 am

2018 Winter Olympics will be held in South Korea.

    Wow! What a coup!

  28. al July 6, 2011 7:34 am

from a recruiting combine last year…

Ben Clarke (Chatfield) was virtually immovable during the 1 on 1’s and looks like a QB’s dream. The 6’2.5 248 lb Clarke was a defensive lineman’s worst nightmare, as his determination, promise and excellent technique. From the moment he stepped up to the line, Clarke was ready to go and handled many different d-lineman with ease. Coaches love players like this.

america has outgrown woody allen as much as paris has lost it’s luster.

allen’s default position to mock america’s right comes up early in his latest movie, midnight in paris, but he has to use a fantasy timewarp to make paris work and movie goers from bolting to the exits. the underlining theme for allen’s hero is an amusing joke. that is, if your career is wanning, nothing like walking the streets of paris at midnight to gain inspiration, meet ghosts of the artisian past and ditch your american fiancee.

at least president obama kept michelle and just apologized to the french for america’s arrogance.

look, anyone who has gone to paris lately knows it has become an armpit for mideast infusion and socialized failure. if you want to see the french at their best–visit tahiti.

that ought to be inspiring. as for woody allen, hopefully he’s not molesting children or marrying his step-daughters.

  30. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 7:48 am

what have Barack and Michelle got to do with Paris?

have you been to Paris lately or is this all hearsay?

  34. warriorsun July 6, 2011 8:16 am

good morning gigi, hope u had a nice july 4th to celebrate the birth of our country.

in a twist of irony i attended woody allen’s latest movie, “midnight…” just to see if he would make an anti-american political statement. the release of his movie was timed for the july 4th weekend.

do some research, u seem to have missed the first few months of obama’s presidency in 2008 when he travelled to western europe among other stops on that continent and elsewhere bowing to countries we liberated and apologizing for america’s sins of the past.

as to heresay, it’s all about your global perspective, current events and your attitude towards the usa….and yes, recently, but the visit didnt make my view, it reinforced it.

  35. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 8:19 am

hahaha. I find you amusing, WSun.

Well, anyway, my visit to Paris in 1969 was a long time ago. I suppose like everywhere else, it’s changed considerably since then.

  42. al July 6, 2011 8:42 am

you’ll have to come to your own conclusions. but i’ve been around a lot longer than the tea party and i didnt agree with nixon and supported reagan. i back the every day joe who has to work hard to make ends meet and i take the time to learn, refresh and stay on top of issues. in short, like millions of americans, i try to be a consciencious citizen, nothing more. it’s our duty to stay well-informed. wouldnt you agree?

the bottomline is to embrace the ideals that make rome work for it’s citizens, not worship caesar.

let the chips fall where they may–regardless of party affiliation.

And let’s not forget that on the women’s side, there is a great fresh(wo)man volleyball player coming in Jane Croson. There may be a little adjustment period, but she will BRING IT and will be a dynamic compliment to Kanani.

    And the football team…

    And …

i understand the legal reasons for casey anthony’s aquittal. still, most folks are having a very difficult time swallowing it. most had her convicted for her behavior, but the jury failed to see any evidence that directly led to caley’s death connected to her mother. idn follow the case closely bc it was turning into soap. but based on attys across the networks they all registered a slam dunk for the prosecutor and called casey’s atty, jose baez, green and over-his-head. this has to be one the biggest upsets in american jurisprudence history.

    UNLV TICKET UPDATE

I just called the ticket office and single game seats will be on sale August 1st. I plan on being the first one in line when the box office opens. Right now, there are about 76 ticket requests on SteveM’s site http://home.roadrunner.com/~smurashi/tsai-kos/las2011.html I will probably get 100 tix for any last minute requests. PLEASE, email SteveM with your ticket count. You can always email me directly – rich2176 over at yahoo, but Steve is much more organized than I. I will be sending out confirmation emails to everyone the first week of August after I get the tix.

Around 3 weeks before Rich2176 buys the tickets, so we’re entering “Final Confirmation” phase. Please check that your ticket request numbers are still accurate and email me any changes. New requests will be accepted too. stevem.hnl (at) gmail.com

Ahhhh!! The teapartynutburgers are finally here in Hawai`i – fortunately for Councilmember District 1. When these guys give up their publicly-funded road repairs, sewage treatment plants, lower & higher education, airport safety inspections, and Social Security, then maybe – just maybe – I actually might treat them as members of the human race.

More serious question: I’ve read several comments wishing LizK good luck recovering from something. Car accident? House burglarized? Emergency surgery? Need some financial help?

Just check with the Facilities Office at the Department of Athletics. They are planning a service project work day in August, but they haven’t even set a date yet.

Off to the third in another round of meetings through this evening – am looking forward to the last one with Coach Mack.

  90. A-joe July 6, 2011 10:48 am

Take away your personal feelings and all the media sensationalism and you’ll see our justice system worked perfectly!

The prosecution went “All In” and tried to bluff their way into 1st degree conviction of Anthony knowing full well they had an uphill battle on really shoddy circumstantial evidence at best. The Prosecution knew they weren’t gonna win and so played the media card to sway opinions and judgements. It worked perfectly on the world, but rendered harmless towards the people it was meant for most: The Jury.

    Rightfully so.

Our jury system has safeguards that protect a trial from being tainted by such destructive nonsense.

    Awesome!

I’ve noticed there’s been a growing trend by city and state prosecuting offices across the nation to go “ALL IN” on mediocre cases. Sort of tossing everything on the wall and hoping something sticks. It’s a bit scary when you see our government officials playing “Russian Roulette” with our justice system.

I would never want our Prosecutors to ever lose their tenacity to seek justice. Just choose their fights more wisely rather than haphazardly. Leave the political motivation out of it.

  91. Couch potato July 6, 2011 10:54 am

  103. Couch potato July 6, 2011 11:16 am

    what’s wrong with fours?

  104. Kekoa July 6, 2011 11:22 am

A-Joe ~ I had several concerns about this tragic trial. Some that made me go Hmmm

So who put the little girl’s body in da swamp?…just askin’

The girl’s disappearance was reported so many days later…just sayin’

Will this woman now get together with OJ and look for the real killer?…just wonderin’

  105. Slugger July 6, 2011 11:25 am

If you guys are going to eat across from the park, I think I can meet you there after the chat. I have hula class tonight.

    Curt, “you’ve got mail.”

    LizKauai,

The alternative is worse. Did you kill da buggah that did it? πŸ˜‰ Get well soon.

  106. Couch potato July 6, 2011 11:29 am

hello, 911, i’d like to report an accidental drowning. end of story.

  107. Couch potato July 6, 2011 11:30 am

    ST,

Is It too late to RSVP for this evenings Chat with Mack?

Bryson — if ST doesn’t respond, I would go down anyway. Last night he said we was just taking count, so unless he posts here to stop, got room. Be sure to introduce yourself to the economy size guy wearing a black Tsai-ko shirt. πŸ™‚

  109. Stephen Tsai July 6, 2011 11:33 am

    Come on down.

  110. Stephen Tsai July 6, 2011 11:42 am

I’m taking count just to make sure everyone is comfortable.

By the way, the room is air-conditioned. Dress muumuu appropriate.

  111. Stephen Tsai July 6, 2011 11:43 am

What’s worse β€” proposing by e-mail or asking for the ring back?

  112. chopsueyboy July 6, 2011 11:49 am

    asking for the ring back

  113. rage777 July 6, 2011 11:54 am

Depends, are you asking for the ring back in an e-mail also?

  114. BleedGreen808 July 6, 2011 12:02 pm

    ST–

    Put me down as maybe

  115. Glenn July 6, 2011 12:05 pm

I will not wear a muumuu.

  116. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 12:21 pm

Would you consider wearing a lava-lava to the chat?

  117. chopsueyboy July 6, 2011 12:29 pm

    Will Mrs. Mack be there?

  118. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 12:33 pm

ST, is the wedding still on for Saturday?

  119. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 12:36 pm

When I was 21, a local Japanese guy proposed to me by snail mail.

He was a student at U of Wisconsin-Madison.

He wanted ME to phone him collect with my answer.

Good grief! The word LOVE was not mentioned in his letter.

So naturally I turned him down — via snail mail.

  120. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 12:39 pm

I hope nobody with a big head or a long neck sits in front of me at the chat.

Maybe, I should kapu two seats in the front row so we can see the video.

course, the guy in back of hubby will have a hard time seeing over hubby’s head. lol

  121. Stretch July 6, 2011 12:44 pm

#121 – gigi – just make sure you beat ST to the front row. nobody will be able to see around his head.

  122. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 12:48 pm

Liz, you got mail… the E kind.

  123. Couch potato July 6, 2011 12:49 pm

what’s worse is getting rejected by e-mail and not getting the ring back.

  124. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 12:49 pm

Stretch, I had a professor at UH who said that students who always sat in the front row were the ones who got the A on their report card.

  125. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 12:52 pm

ST does have a round head, doesn’t he?

    well, better than square!

  126. Curt July 6, 2011 12:58 pm

    Couch potato

#124 That’s what I think I heard yesterday on the Animals. A female turned down a sports figure’s proposal but decided to keep the $76,000 ring. Who would send an expensive ring through the postal service?

  127. Stretch July 6, 2011 1:03 pm

#125 – no wonder I never for any A’s. I always sat in the back row, just like how I probably will tonight. And like in college, I might sneak out before it’s done.

  128. chopsueyboy July 6, 2011 1:07 pm

I thought back row was for taking a nap.

No wonder I didn’t last long in college

  129. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 1:07 pm

ST, will there be heavy pupus or just cookies and punch after the chat?

  130. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 1:09 pm

I used to teach English at a Thai university.

It always irked me when a couple of students in the back row near the door would leave before the session was over.

  131. Laura July 6, 2011 1:10 pm

Stretch, ST’s head cannot be as big as George Lopez’s, or is it. Tsaiko’s, remember, per ST, everyone has to wear a muumuu. Guess ST does not want Gigi to feel out of place.

  132. iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 1:11 pm

    #130,

There isn’t an entry fee and being that UHAD is short on money, I think you can bring your own juicy fruit gum and the water fountains are down the hall.

But you are more than welcome to bring cookies and punch for all of us. =).

    http://www.bcinterruption.com/2011/6/17/2227637/college-football-conference-realignment-bcs-non-bcs-split

Schools keep complaining about the BCS and how unfair it is…There response (BCS schools) will be to simply pick up and walk away from Division 1.

It won’t be much fun for mid-majors like WAC Sunbelt MWC etc.

  138. Kevin July 6, 2011 1:16 pm

I’ll try to be quiet as I walk in about 20 minutes late tonight… πŸ™

Called ST yesterday and he said it wouldn’t be a problem.

Seems like the questions would be well-covered by others attending, but I might sneak in a plug to Coach Mack to PUSH the green jerseys as the PRIMARY color for home games. 😎

  139. iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 1:17 pm

Gigi, remember a male is running this event, so most likely no refreshments. If a female was running the event, there would always be refreshments, ie Heather Mcmackins event.

  145. BleedGreen808 July 6, 2011 1:28 pm

    Refreshments????

I want to go just to see the new football offices

  146. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 1:28 pm

Nah, I bet there will be food over there.

    Hawaiian style to do that.

  147. Kevin July 6, 2011 1:28 pm

I wrote many times before that essentially, we as a society, are to blame for all of this.

The NFL and NBA lockouts and the conference money grab in college athletics.

    It’s all on us.

They say a product is only is as good as it’s demand, well, our inalienable appetite for placing professional and now student-athletes on ungodly pedestals has driven up the value of sports (professional and amature) to heights that have become DESTRUCTIVE.

9 billion dollars and no resolution??????? People try to rationalize it and compare the work stoppage with everyday salaries of 40K, 50K, etc…, but how can one compare a Nissan Sentra to a Bentley??????? There is NO comparison.

Quit the bitching and get back to making millions playing football damnit!!!!!!!!

Anyway, it’s too late to go back. We cannot. We raised the bar by throwing it in a tree we cannot climb.

We as a society, as a race of human beings have come so far that the ONLY way to go is DOWN.

If it sounds too pessimistic, look around. When the time comes, we will eat each other. Great societies have fallen in the past and no amount of technology or “smarts” can overcome the inevitable. HISTORY WILL REPEAT ITSELF.

  148. Kevin July 6, 2011 1:32 pm

Ummm, Heather McMackin held a clinic, an extended event.

This is just an informal session with Coach Mack.

I think many are just appreciative of the opportunity to ask him questions one on one and to hear him speak in person.

Like ST said, as fans, it’s a privelege to get to do this with a D1 football coach.

If get food, get. If no get, no problem. I’ll hit up Jack in the Box afterwards anyways.

(Jack in the Box is a proud corporate sponsor of UH athletics… πŸ˜‰ )

  149. iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 1:32 pm

    If no get, no problem.

  154. Laura July 6, 2011 1:37 pm

This seems like a Tsaiko only event. No public announcement whatsoever. Could maybe have held it at a Cattle Call Event, gaurantee food and drinks, then.

  155. warriorsun July 6, 2011 1:38 pm

since we are in the finger pointing mode, for the life of me i cant understand dlnr’s hesitation to xray the 9-foot female boa that was caught by hunters in waiawa. exrays is a means in determining whether the female birthed little ones. anyone who has been to southern florida will shiver as they describe how fast these snakes multiply and how much nusance they can cause to the environment. not to mention traumatizing its citizens.

While Commissioners Slive and Delaney haven’t stated they are working towards it. ND commissioner said its pretty much inevitable.

If this happens they probably shut the door completely on other football teams/conferences making it into the association.

I’m sure other sites can host their own chats with coaches.

  173. iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 2:42 pm

    ST,

Can you refresh me on what coaches can or cannot say about recruits? I know if we ask something like “Is recruit John Doe committing to our program soon?” that it can’t be answered.

But if we do not name names, are they allowed to talk about it without violating NCAA rules?

  178. iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 3:17 pm

    From the NCAA site.

“Coaches can’t talk about recruits before having a valid National Letter of Intent on file, and they can’t attend NLI signings not on an institution’s campus. Not allowing coaches to talk about the players they are recruiting avoids the β€œone-upmanship” that could (and previously did) occur between coaches in the recruiting process. Prohibiting their presence at signings also alleviates pressure some student-athletes say they felt when they signed. Peal said that if a signing takes place on an institution’s campus, she encourages institutions to have an administrator present in addition to a coach. The administrator can β€œback up the facts” if a student-athlete later appeals his National Letter of Intent and alleges he was pressured into signing by a coach.”

  209. Garret July 6, 2011 4:44 pm

I’ve been talking for a couple of years now about how I am impressed with the job that Adrian Klemm is doing and how he’d be my first choice if Gordy Shaw ever left UH. This is a nice feature article on him, showing how Klemm has been able to get recruits out of LA even when they have offers from USC, UCLA, Oregon, etc.

Klemm was directly responsible for eight of SMU’s 27 commitments in 2010, including six three-star recruits and one four-star blue chip. Lubbock receiver Arrius Holleman turned down a scholarship from his beloved Texas Tech to play at SMU. Offensive lineman Dontae Levingston, a California kid who had nine total offers from national powers such as Florida and Oregon, signed. So did Conner Preston, a California quarterback who frustrated West Coast recruiters by committing to SMU before his senior season. And Klemm’s grand prize, a monster defensive end from Los Angeles named Davon Moreland, will arrive in Dallas as SMU’s biggest post-death penalty recruit.

Also in Klemm’s recruiting tool box are his childhood friends, several of whom are now prominent L.A.-area high school coaches. They serve as liaisons between him and their prized prospects.

    http://www.dallasobserver.com/2011-07-07/news/for-smu-football-adrian-klemm-s-l-a-story-is-paying-off-but-not-like-that/

  210. Garret July 6, 2011 4:46 pm

Klemm had just finished his degree at UH (great job by a former player going back to school and graduating!) and had nothing to do, so he went to work for JJ for free for a year.

“I was just hanging out with nothing better to do when June called,” says Klemm, who played offensive line for Jones’ Rainbow Warriors in 1999. “I’m fortunate and blessed. He rolled the dice on me and I’m determined to help him win, and win big.”

When Jones called in 2008, it was only with an offer for Klemm to be an unpaid graduate assistant. Now 34, Klemm has evolved into Dallas’ one-man, hard-streets-to-the-Hilltop welcome wagon. He goes to L.A. as one of the city’s own, and always seems to haul back a player who will soon be one of SMU’s own.

“I know what it’s like to leave L.A.,” he says, “and to be both excited and scared at the same time.”

  211. Garret July 6, 2011 4:47 pm

It is pretty sad to read about how bad things were before JJ, but Klemm really experienced the lows.

He arrived to find a program in disarray. After red-shirting his freshman year, he played linebacker and tight end for three head coaches and five offensive coordinators in four years. When Jones arrived in Honolulu before his senior season, talking about a position change, Klemm’s eyes rolled.

“He told me I should move to offensive line and I was like ‘Whatever,'” Klemm says. “We had just gone 0-12 and I was just doing my time, waiting to get out of there. Marcellus (who played at Columbia) made it to the NFL, so I guess it was a dream, but it didn’t feel realistic because we were losing and we were in Hawaii. Everything we did felt so far removed. But Coach Jones worked magic. With our team, and with me.”

  212. Garret July 6, 2011 4:49 pm

I have *finally* caught up with the blog…so many posts, and I have been so tired (and have had 2 business trips already) that I almost just gave up.

The cruise was great, Spain/Italy were fun to visit, but the best thing was the time I got to spend with my parents and my sister’s family.

I saw wafan’s note (I think that was the poster) and have to fix that typo now.

  213. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 4:52 pm

    welcome back, Garret!

    you were missed!

Glad that Klemm is doing so well in life.

  214. Curt July 6, 2011 4:55 pm

Welcome back Garret. Glad to hear you had a great vacation with family.

  215. al July 6, 2011 4:59 pm

garret…you actually read through each post that you missed while you were gone?

  216. Curt July 6, 2011 5:01 pm

Klemm would probably be a difficult get for Hawaii. With his background and production, I would think some BCS school will soon make an offer he can’t refuse.

  217. Garret July 6, 2011 5:04 pm

    Al,

I have a policy that I cannot post unless I read everybody else’s posts first. I skip over the spam, but I notice one spam message that wasn’t deleted on virtually every blog.

If I gave up because of all the posts were too much for me, I just would have stopped posting forever…

  218. Garret July 6, 2011 5:07 pm

    Curt,

Klemm is an interesting case because he doesn’t need the money. He obviously has a bond with UH and Hawaii…he even quietly went back to UH and finished his degree.

UH needs a recruiter who can go into the LA inner-city area and get recruits to choose UH even when they have offers from USC and UCLA and Oregon. Klemm has been able to do that and get recruits to go to Dallas…I’m guessing he could do it at UH.

When I started talking about Klemm on this blog he was a new coach that hadn’t gotten any publicity. Now he’s considered the best non-AQ recruiter in the country and has SMU’s OL with multiple NFL prospects…so, it might have been easier to get Klemm a few years ago but I don’t think it is impossible that he would end up at UH some day.

  219. Curt July 6, 2011 5:09 pm

    al

Garret probably reads everything in sight and stores it for future reference. He’s like the IBM Deep Blue supercomputer and the Mentalist combined.

  220. Ralph July 6, 2011 5:11 pm

when he was at the UH finishing up his degree did anyone from UH approach him and ask if he was interested in a coaching career.

JJ was proactive, he reached out to Klemm while he was attending UH

  221. Curt July 6, 2011 5:16 pm

Speaking of the Mentalist, is he the real deal or is it all staged to portray an individual with super-duper mental powers?

  222. Curt July 6, 2011 5:18 pm

    Garret

Thanks for the info on Klemm…very interesting indeed.

  223. al July 6, 2011 5:21 pm

klemm’s story just goes to show how athletic the modern day offensive tackle really is.

ok, ok, i don’t want pride. upset, i should say that all offensive tackles are agile and mobile beasts.

  224. al July 6, 2011 5:23 pm

surely garret has aced the evelyn wood speed reading courses.

  225. Garret July 6, 2011 5:23 pm

    Ralph,

UH can pay 2 graduate assistant coaches. Klemm was already in school at UH and a paying position at UH would probably have been appealing to him instead of having to move to Dallas to work for free for a year.

Having Klemm assist Gordy Shaw would have been great for UH…

  226. al July 6, 2011 5:26 pm

wafan, curt…i was away doing some volunteer work for a very elderly young lady of 88 years old. helping her to transition to a senior living facility. its been a tough ordeal as she has lost her husband this past new year’s day and all of a sudden her whole lifestyle has changed. its the least i could do.

  227. well July 6, 2011 5:27 pm

Having Klemm take over for Gordy Shaw would have bee great for UH…

  228. Garret July 6, 2011 5:27 pm

Gigi mentioned that she received a marriage proposal by mail…to make this sports related, Dallas Cowboy WR Roy Williams proposed via mail and was rejected.

Williams has declined to comment for the story, but in an affidavit signed by Williams, he claims he sent $5,000 for school and dental bills, a baseball for Daniels’ brother and β€” as a surprise β€” a recorded marriage proposal with the ring through the mail just before Valentine’s Day to Daniels.

    http://bustedcoverage.com/2011/07/06/roy-williams-ex-brooke-daniels-dumps-wr-for-u-of-houston-infielder-23-photos-photos/

  229. al July 6, 2011 5:28 pm

hmmmm. should we ask mack what his long range goals are?

  230. Garret July 6, 2011 5:29 pm

Roy’s ex, the former Miss Texas, is now dating a baseball player who plays for the University of Houston and is batting .241…while recovering from treatment for acute lymphoid leukemia.

  231. gigi-hawaii July 6, 2011 5:32 pm

    Garret,

    that sounds familiar.

I met a Canadian guy in Vancouver who told me he has been sending his girlfriend in Thailand money to help her parents.

He wants to marry her badly. Hope there is a happy ending…

  232. Garret July 6, 2011 5:32 pm

By the way Roy Williams has made millions in the NFL, but he filed an insurance claim on the ring, signing an affidavit where he said that she claimed to have lost the ring. However, that was shown to be a LIE because his ex’s father has written proof that he told his ex to keep the ring. So, Roy Williams lied on an insurance claim form to try to get the ring money back when he’s worth millions and could go to jail for falsifying that document.

β€œHe said (to Brooke Daniels), β€˜I’m not like a lot of people, I don’t want the ring back. You’ll eventually come back to me,’ and she didn’t,” Michael Daniels claimed.

  233. Garret July 6, 2011 5:33 pm

    gigi,

The claim that she love the ring was a blatant lie by Roy Williams, so I also doubt his claim that he sent her the $5k.

  234. Garret July 6, 2011 5:34 pm

“she lost” instead of “she love”

  235. Garret July 6, 2011 5:37 pm

I’m glad that Chad Owens wasn’t seriously hurt and didn’t have the concussion they were worried about.

All was good at Argo practice Monday in Mississauga. The team won its opener, Chad Owens was given a clean bill of health and everyone seemed to enjoy Part 1 of a TSN documentary series on the team.

  238. Iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 6:38 pm

    Curt,

    Maybe I won’t go.

  239. warriorsun July 6, 2011 6:51 pm

LA inner-city is not easy to recruit. several reasons: the pac-12 schools are everpresent and are at the games and after the games. a lot of shenanigans exist. the point is they have a presence. a visible presence. secondly, many of the kids struggle academically. if a kid qualifies a herd of recruiters will be after him. the talent is awesome and these high schools play their athletes at multi-positions to give them a better recruiting resume. the nw schools and the arizona’s frequent these areas. in the suburbs, talent is still plentiful and this is where usc, ucla, calif, stanford, wash, lurk. long beach poly always gets a look by usc–that is automatic. in the 2002 class they took three.

to be effective in the LA area, a recruiter like adrian klemm works. he knows the culture, coaches and programs. he has to be on it. judging from what he has done to recruit for smu, he could do it for hawaii–although we are a ocean away and dallas is roughly 1250 mi.

the question remains would klemm be motivated to make a lateral move at best?

hawaii’s pay would be less for starters.

secondly, klemm played under JJ and cav. there is a loyalty factor and it would not be seen as a move-up unless hawaii offered a higher position.

i dont know klemm personally, but an educated guess would not be positive at this time.

if he can keep recruiting big and turn out studs, mr klemm is headed for the bigtime, not hawaii…..jmo.

  240. Iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 6:56 pm

Coach Mack specifically asked for me.

    ROFL!!!!!

  241. A-joe July 6, 2011 7:40 pm

    #105-Kekoa-

Everyone’s questions and frustrations can be directed to the Florida Prosecution office. They failed miserably proving Anthony killed her daughter.

I can’t believe how lackadaisical and arrogant they were towards Anthony. Honestly, the prosecution was so bad, Casey could have showed up without counsel and still won! Sheesh!

Please don’t blame the jurors. They did a superb and admirable job. Imagine, they had to separate their own opinion from what the law is asking of them, knowing full well the wrath they’ll face for the rest of their lives, and still render the right decision.

Don’t blame the system. It too worked to perfection in this case. Although the outcome wasn’t to everyone’s liking, the system did what it was designed to do: give a fair trial to the innocent as well as the guilty.

And please, the defense counsel was a bunch of amateurs who fell assbackwards into this case. Their performance was laughable at best. I promise you, they can never pull off these shenanigans again against a strong ironclad prosecution.

  242. A-House July 6, 2011 8:52 pm

the reference to an earlier post on the ring should be more concerned about “mail fraud” and a Federal crime – I know of a person who submitted a false report to his insurance company and he got nailed by the Feds – spent 5 years in a Fed pen somewhere.

  243. Slugger July 6, 2011 9:12 pm

  265. Da Punchbowl Kid July 6, 2011 11:42 pm

  266. BleedGreen808 July 6, 2011 11:43 pm

Nice to have finally met you DPK

  267. SteveM July 6, 2011 11:44 pm

  268. iwonderwhytheyhateme July 6, 2011 11:45 pm

    #265,

U are a hard question asker. lol. i didnt stay the whole time and wanted to ask more but while i was there the questions weren’t hard at all. not even mine.

he set the ground rules and made em clear so the best i could do was get an idea of what he thinks about when he is looking for recruits and looking towards 2012.

  269. SteveM July 6, 2011 11:54 pm

When Coach Mack pointed to IWTHM and asked “Are you i wonder why….?”

    Tsai-ko Chorus: “Iwonderwhytheyhateme….”

Reply: “No, “…loveme. Iwonderwhytheyloveme. Hateme is my brother”.

    πŸ™‚

  272. Kevin July 7, 2011 12:11 am

Well, regardless of what people think about the new uniforms, tonight’s session with Coach Mack FURTHER supported that Under Armour was indeed the RIGHT choice of sponsor.

    No surprise at all.

  273. gigi-hawaii July 7, 2011 12:15 am

I liked how DPK told Mack “I’m Gigi.”

Mack then turned to d1shima and said “And you are LizKauai.”

    lol

“I have to show my thanks to this writer for bailing me out of this type of setting. As a result of searching through the internet and getting opinions that were not pleasant, I thought my life was well over. Living without the presence of solutions to the issues you’ve fixed as a result of your main article is a critical case, and ones which could have in a negative way affected my entire career if I had not come across your website. Your good know-how and kindness in controlling all the things was tremendous. I am not sure what I would’ve done if I had not come upon such a point like this. I’m able to at this moment look ahead to my future. Thanks a lot very much for your specialized and amazing help. I really like cash on the net especially getting free freight codes. I don’t really like when stores ask you for for shipping even when you would like ground shipping. One factor I actually do love about internet shopping is when often there is deals to get, they’ve deal during the day and mark downs and super bargains continuously, you will not remember that inside a retail store.

Well…QB Tom Brady was seen as identified No.1 in Greatest 100 Players of this season at official NFL blog site. I take great delight in his story definitely. Late round draft selection, little boy at the combine, in the end bought an opportunity and living the dream of NFL dominance and a super model wife. I often would show my great pride by having on football jersey with a number 12 and his name. There is a shop from where i purchased my fantastic jerseys. Jeter’s fans could get mlb jerseys, Jordan’s follower can collect discount nba jerseys and Crosby’s supporters can shop for nhl jerseys wholesale there. What’s fabulous is they offer you youth nfl jerseys and women jerseys. I sent 2 pieces as gifts to my nephew. He likes it very much. I bought my sports team a dozen of cheap nfl jerseys at around 20 dollars, quality is far better than expectation, big surprise. Really i would like to have my own name and number embroidered on NFL uniforms, I hope they can also custom made jerseys in the near future.

Latest headline: “July 10th, 2011 – Major earthquake strikes off the northern coast of Japan.”

    The hits just keep coming.

As more and more people cover every inch of landmass on the planet, major events will keep happening that put large populations at risk. People need to prepare now, before something happens, not after. It’s obvious that it’s only a matter of time before a minor or major disaster happens near me, or anyone else. It should be mandatory that each citizen is able to take care of their basic needs should all power, water, medical, and other services get interrupted for a length of time.

Your site would not let me vote so I will do so this way. I can understand the cancellation fee if both sides honor the contract. But I find the companies often do not fully provide the promised service but expect the consumer to pay the monthly charge anyway or else the full cancellation fee. I am currently feuding with two separate companies concerning their poor service. They do not listen or seem to care. Sometimes it is even impossible to find anyone to contact. And they have everything on their side. The consumer accepts and pays for the poor service or has it reflected on his credit report.
