Since I couldn’t watch, I wonder if the Stan Sheriff was totally dark for 17 minutes? How could the players stay warm if they couldn’t see the ball or anything in front of them?
Also, I couldn’t watch Cal Poly and couldn’t find out who the MVP of their home tournament was. I would think it was Dvoracek. She’s the one Hawaii will have to watch out for next month. No SLO website made any mention.
It looked like it was safe enough for the audience but not safe enough to play. Surprised they got the lights back up at quarter past rather than 6:20 like the prediction.
Congrats to Skyler as MVP! What a major breakout this season! Gives the wahine a serious middle attack. And to Bailey and Jolie for a great tournament. They need to create a special award for best server just for Norene. Super digging by Brooke. Riley remains solid all around with hints that she is finding her hitting range.
5. wasn’t totally dark. about a quarter of the lights were on but dim, the jumbotron was pretty bright. It was light enough to pepper but not play

10. it’s six matches in. At times 5 players in their first year with the program on the court. Everything is a work in progress.
Cindy, I so agree. Sometimes, I want to yell…they are only 18 years old…and they are college students. In addition to playing three times a week, they are all carrying full class loads in addition to practices…eating, exercising, and sleeping. It is easy for us to see the players and ball. Some of us have a better picture of what is playing than even the coaches. The team is doing amazing, why all of these “…buts…buts…they can hit harder, they can set better.” I am sure they all know that and are doing the best. They can anticipate what the other team is doing but can’t control it.
And, yes, sometimes there is only one returnee from last year on the court. They haven’t practiced together with the coaches for a month yet.
10- Last statement is surprising. I thought set selection was right on.
Good distribution, setting the hot hitting. Only the occasional bad pass forced sets to covered players.
