Army very scrappy…
Major credit to Army and their defense, they haven’t been letting any balls hit the ground. We really have had to work for every single point, hopefully we can just grit this one out. Gottah try and keep our passes not so close to the net.
On a night where the offense was erratic, seldom used Hanawahine and Okino really contributed stability on defense. Passing improved in sets 3 and 4. Well, that’s what I thought. And Sky took control of the middle with her hitting and blocking. A good win.

According to Ah Mow, Kaleo Baxter said in the locker room that those two were the players of the game.
Wish coach would sub out sibs in the back row. She has a hard time there, but does well in the front especially at 6-2″
Choy to Skyler in the middle was humming all night. So was the slide
from Norene to Westerberg.
Glad coach pulls players who aren’t playing well. Shoji would leave them in hell or high-water.

Good Morning all, what happened to Brooke Van Sickle = name of the scoring board. She was not on the players list INDIVIDUAL SCORING BOARD and UH total dig is JUST 61.

The UH website “Individual” stats for the Army match is missing some players. The Wahine list is missing Van Sickle, Hanawahine, Sibley and Igiede. So, for example, the number of digs listed is only 61 but the newspaper and live stats say 84 digs. (The UH site is missing Van Sickles 20 digs and her 7 kills, etc.)
The number of UH kills listed is only 50 but should be 58.
The Army Individual stats is missing Barnhorst and her 6 kills, so their number of kills is listed at 38, but the live stats says 44.

The UH Cumulative stats has incorrect ‘Sets Played’ for some or many of the players. Van Sickle is listed as playing in 12 sets but may have played in 17. Her number of Kills and Digs look correct however.
Skyler is listed at playing in only 3 sets but played in 14, etc.
Wahine exhibited their biggest strength against a good digging opponent that wahine offense does not just rely on just one or two go-to player(s) as Army did a good job taming Jolie. Wahine is capable to switch gears to give new looks in their offense and defense. Didn’t expect that many unforced errors from #20 team, and need to be polished before Denver, UCLA, etc.

11-12. I know, i know, I know about the stats. Have said it from Night 1
they continue to have problem with the new program. As have written, this is an NCAA-suggested program this season that will be mandated next year.
Problem is there are major bugs that need to be fix.
The Big Ten has scrapped it. The Big West wants to continue with it but several schools have said no. Hoping UH will too
