Private service for Hawaii football’s Scheyenne Sanitoa

A private memorial service will be held this evening for Hawaii football linebacker Scheyenne Sanitoa.

Sanitoa died last week. He was 21.

Another memorial is planned for later in Las Vegas, where many of his family members live.

In describing the popular and beloved Sanitoa, a UH coach said if Sanitoa had not eaten in a week and was offered a plate of food, he was the type of person who would try to give the meal to another person who was hungry.

Does UH athletics need to revise its processes to help prevent this kind of occurrence ?
