SWEEP No. 23: No. 1 Hawaii 3 UCSD 0; set streak at 69

Junior opposite Rado Parapunov put down 18 kills and No. 1 Hawaii extended its NCAA record sets-won streak to 69 with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 victory over UC San Diego in a Big West men’s volleyball match today in La Jolla, Calif.
It was the eighth straight win for the Rainbow Warriors (23-0, 6-0) in RIMAC Arena and the 13th consecutive victory over the Tritons (7-15, 0-6).
Hawaii, which leads then nation in blocks (2.80), had eight. Senior middle Dalton Solbrig was in on four.
The Warriors, who also lead the country in hitting percentage (.481) hit .471.
Senior hitter Stijn van Tilburg, playing in the first two sets, finished with seven kills with one error on 11 attempts. Senior middle Patrick Gasman had no errors when adding four kills, the eighth time in the last nine matches he had no hitting errors.
Senior setter Joe Worsley just missed out on a double-double, finishing with 32 assists and nine digs.
Sophomore hitter Wyatt Harrison, son of former Warrior Todd, led UCSD with 14 kills.
