some of you may have seen this Christmas Day in the S-A. If you can’t access it via above link:

Nathaniel Zentkovich wasn’t one of our Keiki Kalikimaka finalists (his sister Chloe was), but we couldn’t resist his contest entry showing University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine head coach Dave Shoji and volleyball players Kalei Greeley and Tayler Higgins with a Christmas tree.

The 8-year-old Mililani Mauka Elementary School student watches UH games on TV with his grandfather, Stanley Kurio. He said it was important to include Shoji, who announced Dec. 12 that he was taking a break from coaching to deal with prostate cancer.

“He’s putting the star on the tree because he has star players,” Nathaniel said. “And he was sick, so I wanted him to feel better.”

Just saw a replay of Shaney Lipscomb’s team’s state title victory. Apparently, she had an unspecified leg injury that limited her in the match, so that explains her stat line. But I was impressed with her on-court demeanor, focus and intensity. I think she will be a vocal leader for Na Wahine.

    1. no. I’m sure there will be a number of quality ones.
seems like a short window, tho. Dec. 22-30, over Christmas holiday.

TurfWar, deleted your post with Lipscomb’s FB link. sorry.
Blog policy does not allow comments about player’s looks and the link invites such.

Was Berg’s contract just for the season? Or was it for a year?

    9. From previous messages and believe was in newspaper, Berg’s contract was for season only. Recall, she was open to future dialogue; was a we’ll see situation. Hope this helps.

    9. Berg’s contract was a single season, basically 5 months, ended at the end of Dec.
