Look who’s atop Big West standings

Sure, it’s early and Big West baseball teams have not faced each other yet.

But still …

Also of note, the ‘Bows jumped 51 spots to No. 46 in the NCAA’s Division I RPI.

“All we can control is how we prepare and how we play,” UH coach Mike Trapasso said. “We’ll focus on that, and leave all the ridiculousness to everybody else.”

Meanwhile, Nick Rolovich and Jason Cvercko depart this evening for California in support of UH’s pro day. It will be a quick turnaround for both. Pro day is tomorrow; UH’s first practice is Wednesday … at 6 a.m.

Not sure how the ad was placed next to the Big West standings, but, hey, if it pays the bills, I’m all for it.

    Big Wave:
Indeed, you’re right about Jerrell Jackson.
The coaches told him to reconsider, that he had a great chance to be in the lineup and get a degree. But he was set on transferring. I think he might have had a family situation in Louisiana. After that, he tried to come back a couple times but the scholarship was gone and UH had moved on.
Stay. Go. Whatever. But it would be best to do it early. That way a school can find a replacement and a transfer can land another scholarship. One of this year’s transfers ended up taking all withdrawals because he decided too late in the spring semester. That screws up a transcript, the eligibility clock and the next scholarship.

Not good idea to even begin to think of conference at this juncture. Look at what happened to VBows.

Hawaii received a vote in the USA Today/Amway poll.

    Amway.

Have you ever been to an Amway meeting?

If you have, you probably remember the cough syrup-like fruit punch that the host would serve in styrofoam cups and shortbread cookies.

Hawaii is also in the “others receiving votes” section in the NCBWA poll.

    Nice job, Trap.

They were picked to finish 7th in the BWC. It might get interesting.

This is going be batchi. Every time the media talks about how good a sport is doing, they lose. Look at the Men’s volleyball. No can…

    Howzit Tsaikos!

Nice to see you and your better half yesterday, ST.

Cappie – yesterday’s #25 – yes, you are a booster. No, you can’t give a specific player a gift, however small.
