JC d-lineman set to join Warriors this summer

The Warriors wasted little time filling a need on the defensive line.

Kendall Hune of Eastern Arizona (junior) Collegetold the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he will join the Warriors this summer, and have two years to play two UH seasons.

“As soon as I got the opportunity, I committed,” Hune said. “I like the coaching staff. They’ve been real professional.”

Hune and his father visited Hawaii this past weekend.

“I loved it,” Hune said. “It was great. That was my first time in Hawaii. It was all good to see what you’re working with the next two years.”
Hune is 6 feet 3 and 285 pounds. He is expected to play the 3-technique (across the gap between the guard and tackle) at UH.

Hune was born in St. Louis and moved to Indiana in the sixth grade. He redshirted as a freshman at the University of Toledo in 2015. He left after a semester, then worked and took some classes at Marian University in Indianapolis before enrolling at Eastern Arizona in January 2017.

Kendall Hune has good JC stats and having been recruited to Toledo out of HS is a plus. I think some factors left him out there such as just two years to play and maybe elegibility concerns. Hope he gets here and I’m sure he’ll do just fine GoWarriors!!!

Don’t stop…We need a couple more DLs due to the recent departures…Someone who is a “fireplug” and could clog the middle.

Also, are we possibly shopping for a transfer or JC QB as well?

Welcome to the islands, Kendall Hune!

Previous topic post 7. should be Shaquem Griffin ran a 4.38 in the 40 yd dash, same as his brother did.

Somebody mentioned about a mainland board saying that if BYU, Gonzaga and St Mary’s join the MWC, the MW could let UH go if BYU brings in its football team.
    How likely is that?

Not sure how this works if all 25 initials were used. Thankful for his commitment. As a prepper he was light for DL @ 238 on some sights. From his Hudl tape he definitely can contribute and really has to. There are 3 DL who have played, the aditiont of RS and Taala will Help. Tavai, when he arrives will also bolster this unit. I think one OL will be converted and former edge guys on the roster will get on all fours. I most certainly believe that undersized players with strength and quickness can function down there. I also firmly believe Coach Logo will produce a tough relentless unit. They are in good hands!!!! GoWarriors!!!!!

Did we lose someone from the 25 UH signed or did someone decide to grey shirt? Not understanding how we could sign another recruit as UH already signed 25 last month. No matter, happy to see another DL committed to UH.

One site, sbnation, says you if a new player graduates from high school early and enrolls in the spring semester, he can be assigned to the previous class, if that class was under the 25-man cap. Were we under the cap last year ?
And if a player delays enrolling until the next spring, he can be assigned to the next class.

I like the way he never gives up on the play relentless. Always hustling till the runner is down, gotta love a player like that.

    Great Morning All!

    Aloha Kendall Hune! 😀

DT lineman Kendall hune is a Junior college commitment so why is he coming aboard this summer instead in a few weeks when our Warrior football team open Spring practice? I had presume that only high school Warrior commitment will come aboard in June after their high school graduation.

    Paniolo:

maybe he has to complete this final semester – graduate – earn his degree — then join the Warriors?

like others — confused about the number of scholarships available for Hune — ST will let us know

UH has not had a go-away local boy coming back in a while — Ulu Perry did so 2 or 3 years ago?

    Morning Tsaikos!
UH website lists 28 signees for 2018. That means one more will join Mcleod and Panoke as a greyshirt.

Should be any day that ST coach is named. Let’s move on and move up-GoWarriors!!
