Aloha state of mind

As legend has it, Craig Stutzmann was a perfect 16 for 16 over three years as recruiting host to prospects who ended up signing with UH.

Rocky Savaiigaea also was a host with the most in building classes a decade ago.

It appears that two of the best hosts this past recruiting period were offensive lineman Micah Vanterpool and running back Miles Reed. That’s significant because both are true freshmen who redshirted this past season and important players in the Warriors’ future.

To selflessly embrace recruits before they even have a chance to play themselves will go a long way to developing team unity.

$100,000.00 bonus for Hawaii Bowl win.

Fresno State: Head coach Jeff Tedford made $100,000 for their Hawaii Bowl win over Houston,

and has earned a total of $650,000 in bonuses this year,

with the possibility of at least $200,000 more coming based on home attendance.

    … man, that’s a lot of raisins.

I hope Miles Reed gets some reps at slot. Rolo should get him coached up on basic route running and catching. Of all the backs he seems to have the most versatile physical abilities. He would be a dangerous runner in the open field so Rolo has to figure out a way to get him some touches. I hope its Holly as the feature back, Keliiliki as the power package back, and Reed as the playmaker. Combine all that with Collie, a hopefully healthy Ursua, an eligible Unga, a more focused Timoteo, and the emergence of Noa we should see a more balanced and efficient short game that should aid in the protection schemes . So lets get a good productive receivers coach for this up and coming unit.

Good luck to Becket-could care less if he does not want to be a Warrior! Only wants “want to be a Warrior” we will see how it unfolds-GoWarriors!!!

  21. Coach DB December 27, 2017 9:02 am

Baraka Beckett is not a great player, he’s a big kid and plays in a weak high school division and dominated over nobody’s. His best bet was to come to Hawaii and be developed and hopefully pan out! He didn’t sign early so now he’s rolling the dice to see if can get a better deal, can’t blame him for pressing his bet!
