Had no idea krug was a walk on wow so uh has four scholarships left.
Any idea who the warriors are signing?

hope the Uh facebook or instagram page streams some of the warrior fall matches this week in California.

Warriors have Devon Johnson (OH) and Brett Sheward (S) committed. Sheward is like J. Worsley where they are on the shorter side and could also be a libero.

Beach team has Lauren White & Kylin Loker as well as Hannemann.

Really surprising that Krug is a walk-on only because there are a good amount of scholarships left. Saw that Ka’aha’ina-Torres has decommitted from Missouri, wonder if Robyn is looking at recruiting her and if so then what position.

I seriously doubt sheward is signing anything wednesday he is probably a walk on like Krug. He doesnt play much for his high school or club team.

I wonder if the other recruit besides johnson is a foreign player.

Since coach wade was just in europe perhaps securing a players commitment like he did with Rado and Stijn? He was in italy so maybe an Italian player?

    3. Sheward has been playing on varsity since he was a freshman. He was the starting libero and took over as setter when other players graduated. He was First Team All-League in arguably the toughest league in the nation despite being on of the lower ranked teams. He plays for one of the best clubs and was named to the 17 Open All-Tournament team last season. Unless there are better pin hitters/middles out there then I would say Sheward will be signing.

Kaahaina-Torres is NOT going to UH, as long as AhMow is there.

  7. Warriorfan November 1, 2017 8:51 pm

UH really doesn’t need another short setter..

    6. But it would also help if you didn’t spread false information about him.

  9. turfwar November 2, 2017 10:56 am

Did someone say Kaahaina Torres was ever recruited by UH? Where would she play?

  10. Warriorfan November 2, 2017 11:26 am

    8. Was going by maxpreps site which has him only playing 6 sets for his high school and then someone on volleytalk said they had never heard of him playing for balboa bay club.

    9. Don’t think Uh needs a setter as I am fine with Maafala as the backup but on the other hand it would be a good idea to get a freshmen setter since Iosia will be a junior.
Always nice to have your setters seperated by classes.

    6. Why would you say that? Is ah mow not a fan? I wouldn’t want torres as a hitter at all but perhaps as a setter? Havn’t seen her set much though but she has nice height for a setter, decent serve and backrow play also.

Kaahaina Torres hits a heavy ball, but lacks size and doesn’t jump. Granato jumped higher than Kaahaina Torres in HS and we’re seeing how that’s working out…

Hawaii needs to shoot for outside with height and can jump.

I’m hoping for a couple of surprise recruits coming from Europe with Angelica Ljungqvist’s connections.

Wonderful article about the Greeley’s this morning. Too bad Kalei didn’t redshirt after her sophomore year and completely s/d. Don’t understand how out medical staff couldn’t get her right after 2 surgeries. She would have been the missing piece in front this season! Very confident that she will play alot this weekend.

Totally agree rabbit ears, great article, great kid, great family!

    Like Castaneda’s arm swing.

    Krug looks good.

I also liked your article on the Greeleys. It’s awesome how they all ended up at UH at the same time. It’s really unfortunate for Kalei though with all of her struggles with her injuries. That year she started, she really showed potential to become a main contributor.

    new thread up for Friday
Thanks for the kind words. fun to write. had to cut about 5 inches out of the orginal
As for Greeley. you cannot blame the medical staff for her not being able to play. people heal differently
the first surgery did not repair the problem.
She was given the option to redshirt this year. Declined.
As for recruiting, Wade was in the Czech Republic for that. He only went to Italy to see Fey and Franciskovic play, caught up with Kahumoku.
Wahine have 3 more scholarships to give for 2018. They are looking for help at all positions.

And how about not speculating about who would NEVER play at UH because of a coach.
