It’s a good thing the checks already were sent out. UH is going ahead with plans to complete the new wing of the athletic department building, a section that will include offices for the football coaches. UH people are hopeful the project will be completed this coming semester. In the meantime, Rainbow Wahine volleyball coach Dave Shoji is using a room in the Stan Sheriff Center. Offensive linemen Ray Hisatake and Raphael Ieru are the latest former Warriors to set training schedules in Arizona. They will begin their programs Saturday, with the intent of preparing for UH’s Pro Day in late March or early April. Also training in Arizona are linebackers Blaze Soares and Brashton Satele, running back Jayson Rego and defensive tackle Rocky Savaiigaea. Grice-Mullins to sign with Dolphins

Davone Bess and Ryan Grice-Mullins are about to be reunited. According to a source, Grice-Mulins will sign a contract with the Miami Dolphins today. Bess led the Dolphins with 76 catches for 758 yards this past season. Cadiz attempts comeback

In an inspiring story two years ago, 5-foot-6 running back Joey Cadiz was invited to the Warriors’ training camp as a walk-on. He earned one of the last spots because of his offseason work. But Cadiz’s season was cut short because of a knee injury. He did not play in 2008 or 2009. Now Cadiz, fully healed, is attempting a comeback. He will participate in the walk-on tryouts Jan. 13.
