Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Huge win for Hawaii, 25-19, 19-25, 27-25, 25-16. first some comments from Shoji. Said it’s obviously early in the season but it was an amazing win for the program, coming against the defending champions who had almost everyone back from last year. Should be a very entertaining match for the fans. Texas is very athletic and I expect great defense from both teams. TV may get the lineup before we do don’t know if livestreaming has started. TV is doing its pre game. but the live stats won’t start before the match does.
