Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Hawaii unranked, stays at 30 in RPI, Adolpho DOW honors

From the Big West Hawai‘i senior Kalei Adolpho put on her own personal blocking clinic in earning Big West Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors. The 6-1 middle blocker led the Rainbow Wahine at the net in both matches against Long Beach State and CSUN, averaging 2.11 blocks per set to help UH to a home split.
