Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

USA Volleyball makes it official: U.S. -China here in June

Had mentioned this last week but got the official word today. U.S. vs. China June 5-6 at the Sheriff Center. Another accolade for Wahine commit Iosia

Norene Iosia’s commit can only be verbal until this coming fall when she is a senior but the Redondo Beach setter was named national junior of the year for 2014 by prepvolleyball.com I don’t subscribe so if you do, you can read the story. Prepvolleyball.com also named her the national freshman of the year for 2012 appreciate the email by Terence Y. for letting me know.

USA women to play China in Hawaii this June

Don’t have all the details but the U.S. Women’s National Team will play China in a two-match friendly June 5-6 at the Stan Sheriff Center. U.S. men scheduled to come out to Hawaii also later this year.
