Behind a career-high 15 points and nine rebounds from junior Samuta Avea and an effective debut for freshman Bernardo da Silva, the Hawaii men’s basketball team was victorious in its 2019-20 season opener over Florida A&M, 65-52 on Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. Hawaii made the Big West soccer tournament for the first time, but tonight showed the Rainbow Wahine have a long way to go to win a conference championship.
