Heffernan's promotion; Chun's departure

Tommy Heffernan will be in charge of the  offseason conditioning program for football, as well as serve as the Warriors’ lead strength coach. Biesemeyer named GA

Ryan Biesemeyer returns to the UH football as a graduate assistant for defense. Biesemeyer was the Warriors’ video coordinator in 2008. Last year, he was the running backs coach at Texas Lutheran. Biesemeyer replaces Mike Smith, who helped coach UH linebackers last season. California CB accepts UH offer

John Hardy-Tuilau, a cornerback from Vista Murrieta High in California, told the Warrior Beat he has accepted a football scholarship from the Warriors. Hardy-Tuilau is 6 feet 1 and 165 pounds. This past season, he made 10 interceptions in 14 games, returning three for touchdowns. But his specialty is blocking kicks. Center Kody Afusia of Ocean View High in Huntington Beach, Calif., told the Warrior Beat he has accepted a football scholaship from the Warriors. “It feels like home,” Afusia said of his recently completed recruiting trip to Hawaii. Two Kapolei LBs commit to UH

Two Kapolei High School linebackers — Dustin Elisara and Tuu Lolohea — have made verbal commitments to accept University of Hawai‘i football scholarships. Elisara, who is 6 feet 2 and 245 pounds, is Hawai‘i’s sixth-ranked prospect in the Scout.com ratings. He is projected to compete at middle linebacker for the Warriors.
