Warriors play Lamar in 2012

From UH: University of Hawai‘i Athletics Director Jim Donovan announced the addition of Lamar to complete the 2012 football schedule. The Warriors and Cardinals will meet Saturday Sept. 15, 2012 at Aloha Stadium. From Derek Inouchi: University of Hawai‘i men’s volleyball head coach Charlie Wade announced the signing of Scott Hartley of La Costa Canyon High School to a National Letter of Intent. Hartley is the third player to sign with the Warriors for the 2011 season. A 6-foot-5 left-side hitter, Hartley was named to Volleyball magazine’s “Underclassmen to Watch” in June 2009. NCAA grants Letuli a sixth UH year

Pa‘aluhi to UH?

David Pa‘aluhi, who started at middle linebacker for Oregon State last year, is seeking to join the Warriors. Pa‘aluhi, of Waianae, was OSU’s second-leading tackler (77) last season. It was announced in February he was leaving OSU to pursue a career in the military. Because he secured a scholarship release, he is free to to sign with another NCAA team. Pa‘aluhi has contacted UH. The volleyball Warriors will host an MPSF tournament opener Saturday because they beat UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Diego upset Pepperdine. UH and Pepperdine finished the regular season tied for fourth with 14-8 MPSF records, but the Warriors own the tie-breaker. The top four teams host. Brashton Satele: "I'm shocked"

In an astonishing decision, the NCAA denied middle linebacker Brashton Satele’s request for a medical exemption that would have allowed him to play as a sixth-year senior in 2010. “I’m shocked,” Satele said. “I thought I was coming back (to UH) for sure.” The NCAA ruled that Satele needed to prove he missed two seasons because of injuries.
