Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Someone asked for another thread regarding this. The release UH sent out said Friday only on OC16. rebroadcast at 10 Both matches on radio. someone mentioned there was conflicting info. For those who missed it ..  Brook Sedore, a 6-5 junior opposite for No. 8 University of Hawai’i, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men’s Division I-II National Player of the Week. No real surprise but you just never know. National award given out tomorrow. Brook Sedore was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week following his performance in the Rainbow Warriors’ two-match sweep of UCLA over the weekend. Sedore, a junior opposite from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, averaged 5.11 kills per set and hit .427 during the series.
