By Cindy Luis on April 20, 2015

http://www.avca.org/divisions/men/1-2-poll-4-20-15/ no surprise. UH down to 3. still one vote Lewis up a spot to 1. UCI from 4 to 2. Loyola at 4 Pepperdine drops from 3 to 5. RPI is good news for the Warriors but they still have a lot of work ahead of them. also good is that the next MPSF team is Pepperdine at 7. 1. Lewis. 2. Loyola-Chicago, swaps places with UC Irvine. now at 3 4. Hawaii. 5. Ohio State. 6. Penn State […]

Updated: SandBows on Sunday

By Cindy Luis on April 19, 2015

Hawaii finishes up the home season Sunday with duals against HPU, San Jose State and Grand Canyon. OC Sports televising the final two matches. UH-2 in the 7 p.m. match and UH-1 in the 8 p.m. With Taylor out (elbow) likely Brown stays with Tiegs. Not sure if they’ll keep Chow with Rooks at 3. The discussion on Taylor was caught in the middle of Saturday’s thread on BYU. Some may have missed it. She tweaked that problem elbow during […]

Saturday finale: BYU 3, Hawaii 2

By Cindy Luis on April 18, 2015

I will be at SandBows tournament so likely won’t be able to update the match in Provo until late. Very unlikely that UCSD will be UCI so Hawaii will be the second seed going into next week’s tournament and host Long Beach State. Still a big match for the Warriors in terms of the RPI. They are currently at No. 4. UCLA’s win over Stanford last night gave the Bruins the last playoff spot. UCLA will be at UCI Saturday […]

Friday: BYU 3, UH 1

By Cindy Luis on April 16, 2015

Friday and Saturday’s matches will be on BYU TV. That is 409 on Oceanic. or byutv.org They just announced that Hawaii’s 1500-AM will carry the BYU radio feed on Sirius XM 143 or byuradio.org

Wednesday shocker: UCSB over Pepperdine in Malibu

By Cindy Luis on April 15, 2015

Very surprising: Gauchos win 25-15, 15=25, 26-25, 25-22. It was the first loss in 20 matches in Firestone for the Waves. They had set the school record of 20 with last week’s win over UCLA. Pepperdine clinches the No. 3 seed at 17-5.

SandBows stay No. 2, MVB tickets going fast, new recruit

By Cindy Luis on April 14, 2015

http://avca.org/sand/poll/ poll unchanged from last week led by 1. USC 19-0. 2. Hawaii 12-1. 3. FIU 18-1. 4. Pepperdine 10-4. If it holds, USC, UH and Pepperdine are the three from the West, FIU and FSU 2 of the 3 from the East Expanded tournament now 8 teams. They’ll have the AQ from the Atlantic Sun (likely Stetson) and one at=large that could be from any region. I could see it being Long Beach State. SandBows finish up home schedule […]

Rainbow Warriors stay at No. 1 in poll, No. 4 in RPI

By Cindy Luis on April 13, 2015

Coaches haven’t changed their minds on much. Top 9 stay the same with the same number of first place votes for each as last week. Hawaii (13 votes), Lewis (3), Pepperdine (1) and UCI (1) http://www.avca.org/divisions/men/1-2-poll-4-13-15/ UH still No. 4 in RPI behind Lewis, UCI and Loyola-Chicago http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/volleyball-men/nc
