Monday A.M., CSUN vacates 18 matches

By Cindy Luis on August 24, 2015

Turn out the lights, the practice is over. But told them I could finish in the dark. The weather forced the 630 a.m. practice to be moved from Gym I to the arena. Seems that the humidity created slippery floor conditions deemed unsafe. Can we say ACLs waiting to happen? They are down to single practices through Thursday, rest of the time in the afternoon. Today also is the first day of classes. CSUN has vacated 18 matches from last […]

Thursday checkin: Wahine, USAV men’s roster

By Cindy Luis on August 20, 2015

Even though she’s injured, Natasha Burns tried to be involved with practice as much as she could. Above passing balls to Megan Huff as part of passing practice happening on the other side of the net. Wahine only had one practice today. and one tomorrow afternoon on Admissions Day. Pretty spirited practice since they had fresh legs. Nothing too exciting today after all the stuff yesterday. Pretty routine drills after the normal 20 minutes of working with the strength coaches. […]

Burns out 6-8 weeks, could red-shirt

By Cindy Luis on August 19, 2015

Spoke to Burns after she came back from the doctor. She was watching practice. Said it hurt but she was very upbeat saying that it gives her an opportunity to do strength training that doesn’t involve her hand. She had two sessions with the trainers earlier today before going to the specialist. She even offered to send me ‘better pictures’ of her X-rays than the one she put up on Twitter. I declined. The rest of this is from the […]
